6. Regrets

Jahnvi is standing outside the conference room giving a round of applause to her friend and thought to make her favourite chocolate cake which she used to like when they were young. When Jahnvi saw Liam looking at her she quickly ran away. Liam came out of the conference room to see if it was Jahnvi or not. However, no one was there near the door and Liam thought he was just hallucinating.

Afterward, Jahnvi went to the kitchen and took permission from the chef to bake for her friend she’s going to meet after a long time. The chef agreed and Jahnvi showed gratitude for understanding her situation.  She took the series of ingredients and put them in a mixing bowl and pours the batter into the pan, and left the cake in the oven.

Meanwhile, Urvi received a call from her hospital. It was a severe case from her patience so she has to leave immediately. Urvi and Jake left the conference room. Soon, Liam entered and asked for Dr. Urvi but he heard that she left after receiving her award. Liam thought to take revenge for that slap Urvi gave him years ago by humiliating her in front of the entire staff but his idea to do so failed.

In the meantime, Jake helped Urvi to pack her clothes and insisted to go with her but Urvi told him “It’s important that you stay here love”. Jake still wants to leave with her wife. She advised Jake “Come-on love, Please! Be practical you get to meet more investors, who would like to invest in your hospital.”

Jake: “These people would invest in my hospital?  They only want to hoard people’s money but I want to treat people at a reasonable price and genuinely help them.”

Urvi: “Not everyone is like this Jake. What if someone really appreciates your ideas and plans that you have. But, you should at least give this a try. There’s nothing wrong with trying.”

Jake: “I’ll get to meet more investors in the future, Urvi. I’ve to go with you.”

Urvi: “Please! Stay here for me, love. It’s really important.”

Jake agrees to stay here and told Urvi he will leave soon after the seminar gets over. Meanwhile, Jake made the call at the reception to book a taxi and make some sandwiches for the roadway. Urvi hugged Jake and acknowledges the efforts he made for her.

Jahnvi was in the kitchen. In the intervening time, a chef gets a phone call and he announced, “Room 104 has ordered sandwiches for their way to the airport so we have to do it quickly.” When Jahnvi heard the announcement she expeditiously frosted the cake and decorated it with chocolates. She rushed out of the kitchen carrying her cake for Urvi to eat. However, Urvi has left the room and was moving towards the lift.

 Jahnvi saw Urvi taking a lift so she took the stairs to reach fast. Urvi was walking before her.  Meanwhile, Jahnvi thought to light the candles first before surprising her. At that moment, Urvi was talking to someone on the phone. When Jahnvi thought to approach her she was hit with the old memory of her when she chose Liam over Urvi’s friendship. This memory made her filled with regrets and realized Urvi was right about Liam from the beginning.  Now, it’s hard for her to see Urvi eye-to-eye. Soon, Urvi left the hotel and took the taxi, and said goodbye to her husband.

Suddenly, the fire sprinkler was on and started pouring water. The whole place was wet and the fire alarm started buzzing. Jahnvi got petrified and the cake fell from her hands. People were rushing out being all wet. Meanwhile, everyone noticed it was Jahnvi’s fault for lighting the candles. Everyone in the reception was pointing out at Jahnvi. By hearing the alarm voice, Liam came out and saw Jahnvi standing in between the crowd. He turned his back and acted like he doesn’t know her. When Jahnvi saw Liam, she rushed and hugged him from behind while crying out loud and saying “It wasn’t her fault”. Liam consoled her by patting her head and said “It’s alright. Calm down!”

At the same moment, Jake comes inside the hotel and saw Jahnvi all soaking wet in Liam’s arm. Jake has no idea about what’s going on. Meanwhile, everyone in the room asked the manager to take some action against this stupidity. Liam apologized to everyone by saying “I’m sorry for my wife. It was an accident. She didn’t know.” Afterward, Liam took Jahnvi to their room.

Everyone being all pissed started talking “Saying sorry won’t start the conference again.” Jake stood up and told everyone “It was just an accident and we got to know that the security works perfectly fine of this hotel, and the conference can start again. So, let’s go back to work.”

Simultaneously, Liam asked Jahnvi to sit. He poured some water in the glass for her to drink and told “It’s alright, baby. You’re in shock you should drink some water.” When Jahnvi was drinking the water Liam choked her and said while being furious “I told you not to leave this room, you sneaky little b***h. It’s not even my birthday so who told you to bake the cake and put dozens of candles.” Jahnvi was out of breath and begged in a hoarse voice “I… can’t… breathe”

Liam: “You shouldn’t breathe. It's better you die but you’re really shameless, if someone was in your place that person would’ve already died by drowning.”

Liam stopped his hand from choking and looked at the air conditioner. He put the lowest setting of the air conditioner and turned the fans on. He further threatened her by saying “If you feel cold then don’t dare to cover yourself with anything in this room. This time, if you moved from this chair I’ll break your legs.” Jahnvi nods her head in fear. Liam drinks some water and poured the remaining water on Jahnvi’s head. Jahnvi was all wet and couldn’t stop shuddering. Meanwhile, Liam locked the door and went outside the room. 

Liam reaches the golf court and saw Jake playing golf and thought he might be interested in his business. Soon, Liam approached Jake and said “Hello, I saw you in the conference room.”

Jake: “I noticed what happened to you a few minutes ago.”

Liam: “Yeah, my wife. I apologize for your inconvenience.”

Jake: “It’s completely fine. Who doesn’t make mistakes? Frankly speaking, people are not kind anymore. Few sprinklers were on so they all started shouting and blaming. So, you should relax!”

Liam: “You’re completely right. Who doesn’t make mistakes?  People should understand the situation of a person. She couldn’t stop crying about it. She was petrified, I told her to sleep and relax in the room. Anyways, what’s your profession?”

Jake: “I’m a doctor. I am here to attend the conference.”

Liam: “That’s really great; I came here to meet with doctors. So, in which department are you?”

Jake: “I’m a pediatrician.”

Liam: “That’s actually really great. Children are a form of god. It’s really rude of me I didn’t ask for your name.”

Jake: “It’s fine. I am Jake Archibald.”

Liam: “I’m Liam Flores; I’m opening the biggest Path Lab. This is my card. You can refer your patients to our path lab for diagnosis. The 10% commission will be yours and ours too. It’s a win-win situation doctor. So, it’s a Deal?”

Jake: “Sorry, I’m a doctor, not an agent. I don’t eat commission.”

Liam: “You are right, doctor. You have good Morales. Nowadays, everyone wants to eat a doctor’s commission.”

Jake: “I and my wife are not like this.”

Liam: “Your wife is also a doctor. She’s also a pediatrician?”

Jake: “No, she’s a gynecologist.”

During their conversation, Liam asks Jake for his wife's name but Jake receives a call and told Liam “We’ll talk later.”

Meanwhile, Jahnvi was shivering and couldn’t bear the chilled air of the air conditioner in her room. So, she thought to cover herself with a blanket but couldn’t because of Liam. She stood in front of the lamp and tried to catch the lamp’s heat. Liam came into the room and saw Jahnvi near the lamp. He grabbed Jahnvi’s leg and yelled “I told you not to move. Should I break your legs? I don’t know what to do with you now. While I’m thinking you go out of the room.” He dragged Jahnvi out of the room.

 Jahnvi tries to hold the chair to stop his force but he kept dragging her out and throws her out of the room. Jahnvi’s head was hit by the photo frame hanging on the wall. Blood started coming out of her bruise. Expeditiously, Liam locked the door from the inside. Jahnvi started knocking on the door and begged him to open it.

At that moment, Jake saw Jahnvi standing outside all wet and anxious. He tries to look at her face by moving forward towards his room but Jahnvi hides her face and stood quietly outside the room. Without responding Jake went to his room. Meanwhile, Jahnvi kept knocking on the door asking Liam to open it and forgive her for what she did. Liam opened the door, and pushed Jahnvi far from the room, and asked her to leave.

When Jake heard all the voices he opened the door and saw Jahnvi scared and anxious. Jake tries to approach her. However, seeing Jake Jahnvi kept running from him. Jake followed her by seeing in a terrible condition. Jahnvi went outside the hotel. Jake asks her to halt her movements, nonetheless, she kept moving forward and ended up getting hit by a car. Jahnvi tries to stand up but she saw a truck moving towards her. Jake dashed forward and grabbed Jahnvi’s arm and moved her hastily.
