5. The Conference

Urvi and Jake came to the bar to have some drinks. Urvi’s legs started hurting, subsequently Jake asked Urvi to wait for him here because he has to do something crucial. Meanwhile, Liam took Jahnvi to the pool-side and meets Dr. Brook. Liam introduces Jahnvi to Dr. Brook and whispers in her ears, “Say Hi, and try to socialize with him.”  

Jahnvi saw Urvi sitting alone beside the bar. This brings a jovial smile to her face and she couldn’t stop smiling seeing her long-lost friend. She asked Liam that she has to go to the toilet, being all annoyed Liam whispered in her ears “It’s the washroom, at least have some class you’re with me.” After that Liam gave her the direction towards the washroom while saying “I’ll see you love.”

In the meantime, Jake was planning a romantic night with Urvi so he asked the decorator to bring candles and flowers to their room and make arrangements to have a remarkable night. He saw a flower vase of roses and pick one rose for Urvi and requested the guy to give this rose to her wife, who’s sitting right-hand side of the pool-side bar.

Jahnvi moved towards the washroom and changed her direction towards the pool-side bar. Suddenly, a woman bumped into her by accident and when Jahnvi reached the bar she lost Urvi in the crowd and wasn’t able to see her. Jahnvi asked the bartender if he had seen a woman with a pink dress but the bartender denied. At that moment, a guy came over there and gave Jahnvi the rose and said “Ma’am, this is from your husband.”

When Jahnvi took the flower she saw her husband coming over. She had a confusing smile on her face. Liam asked her “What’s wrong with you today and who gave you the flower? Did someone give you this?”

 Jahnvi hesitatingly replied, “Uh…uh…You gave this to me.” Liam laughed and said “Did I ever give you a flower? No right? So, why would I give you now? It’s not like you brought fortune to my life. Well, it’s a good thing I didn’t give you this. Whoever gave you this did you get his contact or not?” Jahnvi looked in his eyes all surprised and shook her head implying “No”.

Liam being all pissed threw the rose in the pool and told Jahnvi “We need doctor’s contact. If someone shows interest in you then don’t act all Sati-Savitri, ask for his contact. You’re my wife then do your wife-duties.”

“Now put a smile on your face and attract some men with your beauty.” While telling her Liam pushes Jahnvi to move forward.

On the other side, Urvi entered the room and soft background music was playing. The entire room was decorated with flowers and scented candles.  Jake enters the room after Urvi and lit the candles for their perfect romantic night. “I can’t believe you did all this, this is why the room was delayed,” Urvi said, looking all amazed.

 Jake looked at Urvi’s empty hands and asked, “You didn’t receive the flower? Damn it!” Urvi being all confused replied “Which Flower?” “I asked the hotel staff to give you a rose” Jake said by making a frown face.

Urvi: “You stole someone’s heart today by giving her a rose”

Jake: “But I wanted to steal my wife’s heart”

He gently disentangled his arms from her hands and gripped her waist, pulling her close. He lifted Urvi in his arms and carried her to the bed. Jake removed Urvi’s heals from his ankles furthermore he opened the bottle of wine, and served it to Urvi by calling her “My lady”. He begins to give her a leg massage; Urvi stops Jake by saying “No, Jake. I’m fine”. But Jake continues to give her a leg massage and told Urvi to “Just relax! and close your eyes and breathe in and out. Besides we have a busy day today.” a Few minutes later Urvi asked Jake to stop because his hands must be tried by now. “I can do this for hours. You don’t worry,” said Jake.

Urvi: “But we have a conference to attend, love”

The phone in Urvi’s room started ringing. Jake told her to not pick because their moment will get ruined; nonetheless, she picks the phone “Hello...Hello?” but she received no response and suddenly she heard the sound of bangles jiggling with one other. That sound reminded her of someone but she was not sure about that so softly she said “Hello!” but the phone call was cut-off.

Urvi: “That’s weird, the call just cut-off”

Jake: “Love! If someone is not responding then why are you still holding the phone? I’m waiting for you here in bed.”

Jake came close to Urvi and started giving her wet kisses. But Urvi couldn’t stop thinking about the call. So, she asked Jake “Who could it be?” Jake replied, “Maybe your secret admirer”

Urvi: “Maybe it could be the girl who received your flower”

Jake: “Whoever that might be, no one will come between us”

Immediately after that, he hugged her tightly and they spend the night together in each other’s arm. In the meantime, it was Jahnvi who tried calling Urvi. Despite gathering the courage to contact Urvi, the memories of their past feud prevent Jahnvi from calling her long-lost friend. She blamed herself for the past feud and was not sure if Urvi has forgiven her or not. As tears fall down from Jahnvi’s checks she didn’t know how to face Urvi after what she has done. 

The next Morning, Urvi and Jake got ready and went to the conference. Jake was not in the good mood he told Urvi “Medical science is not science anymore, it’s a business now. They do celebrity delivery for free so that they can get famous and when it comes to treating other people they hoard money. That’s why Urvi I want to open my own hospital so I can treat people at a reasonable rate. We are doctors not mosquitos who suck people’s blood.”

Urvi said while caressing Jake’s hair, “Yeah, you’re absolutely right and I will support you in this, love.”

Soon, the owner of the City hospital came and welcomed them to the conference by saying “Hello! Dr. Jake and Dr. Urvi, the golden couples are here. Our hospital is waiting for both of you. Now we have opened the V.I.P vying too. Please do come and join us.”

Urvi: “Yeah, of course. We will come”

Jake: “V.I.P vying that what I was talking about Urvi. They don’t cure disease. They just cure celebrities for free.”

 On the other side, Liam was enraged with the fact that he couldn’t find his pass for his entry to the conference. Liam calls out Jahnvi’s name in vexation and asks in a hoarse voice “Where is my pass for the doctor conference, Jahnvi? You must have kept it somewhere. So, tell me where it is?”

Jahnvi replied stuttering in fright, “I…I… don't know where it is”

Liam grabbed Jahnvi’s face while squishing it he growled, “Why are you stuttering? We are here so that we can some contacts with doctors. If you didn’t find my pass then you’ll remember what I will do to you. You have one minute to find the pass. Now, keep looking!”  Meanwhile, Liam receives a phone call. He took the phone from his pocket and pass comes out with it. Without telling Jahnvi about it he moves out of the room and orders her to not to come out of the room without his permission and he would call her during his conversation with the doctors. Furthermore, he said “If you messed up then you’ve to come back to this room only.  Now, stop looking at my face and start searching.” Jahnvi nods her head. But she remembered if she would not attend the conference then she can’t meet Urvi.

The conference starts; the host of the conference invites Dr. Urvi to the stage and rewards her with the trophy for the most aspiring doctor in the country. Everyone in the conference room gave a round of applause to Dr. Urvi except Liam. For Liam seeing Urvi at the stage was a shocking revelation. Seeing Urvi reminded him of a slap that Urvi gave him long back ago. Meanwhile, Urvi gave her speech of the day, “Mostly people see dreams while sleeping but I’ve seen through my open eyes.  The credit for my dreams coming true is not mine. In these dreams, someone’s passion is also involved who gave me advice that those who don’t dare end up dreaming only.” A crowd of 300 people including Jake applauded her speech.  Meanwhile, Jahnvi was outside the conference, listing to her friend’s speech. She was overwhelmed with nostalgia for her days with Urvi. Tears were gushing down her eyes because it was Jahnvi who gave advice to Urvi for her entrance preparation when Urvi decides to give up.

A waiter with the serving drinks came inside the conference room and opened the door. At that moment Liam saw Jahnvi standing outside the door and smiling by seeing her old friend.
