Zeus’ Oath-taking
Having successfully passed all the trials of the previous days, on the seventh day the initiation ceremony for which the Natural Forces had been waiting so long would take place. They started with offerings in honor of mother-Earth Gaia and Rhea and then of Uranus. They continued with supplications to life, to nature and the whole of the worshipped universe. Then Zeus thanked the Kourites, the nymphs Adrasteia and Hides who brought him up as a baby and Amaltheia on whose milk he had grown up. He offered them the customary symbolic gifts which however were quite valuable, in any way one saw it.
