Coral’s POV The moment my eyes flutter open, I know I’ve slept longer than I planned. Sunlight filters through my curtains, casting golden streaks across my ceiling. I blink, adjusting to the brightness, and glance at the clock. 3:00 p.m. Perfect timing. The house is alive with the sounds of family. Ireland is in the kitchen, preparing snacks for the kids. I can hear their laughter, the occasional clatter of plates, and my mother’s soothing hum as she moves around. I sit up, stretching out the remnants of sleep, then reach for my phone. There’s something I need to do. The dragon’s words from earlier still echo in my mind, heavy with purpose. I press a contact. The line rings once before my grandmother, Iris, picks up. "Granddaughter," she greets, her voice a warm caress. "What is it?"
