When we reached my place, I asked her to wait for a moment while I went inside to grab some money. It felt like the least I could do for her putting up with me on the drive home. I pulled out a chunk of money that probably equaled around five hundred and came back to the first floor of the pack house to hand her the money. “Thank you for being a kind ear and bringing me home.” She smiled and only took two bills. "This is plenty." I insisted, "Take it all. Let it be my treat to you." "Okay then. Thank you!" she said, happily accepting the money. "Take care and get back to your parents’ house safely.” With a bright smile, she nodded. "I will. Bye miss!" I watched as she drove off between the houses, keeping her gaze straight forward.
