Caught Already OneCampbell repeatedly attempted to contact Penelope as his battered clipper raced through the darkness toward his home. There was no response. He was deeply worried as he considered the possibilities. Penelope acted as if she'd become a pacifist. He wasn't sure she would defend herself at the risk of taking another human's life. He doubted aging Juanita could. His only hope was that the dogs could stop Bohdan again if he attacked.
What do I do about Bohdan? Campbell wondered. If he hasn't already attacked the house, do I waste time hunting him down? We have to find someplace to hide!
Still, I can't let Bohdan get away. He carries at least part of the evidence of Yamamoto's experiment. I doubt the same thing was done to Bohdan as Penelope, but if the military catches
