A Rude Surprise OneCampbell was physically and emotionally exhausted after his intense confrontation with Penelope. Yet before he finally made it to his long-awaited and warm bed, he returned to open the kitchen door and whistled for the dogs to come in for the night.
“Biscuits!”
Immediately all four dogs charged from the dark and dewy woods toward the house as they yelped, barked, jumped and played. Campbell quickly leaped out of their way as they stampeded with thundering enthusiasm into the kitchen. He closed and locked the back door before handing each expectant Malamute a biscuit and affectionately stroking them goodnight.
Campbell closely eyed each dog as they eagerly devastated their nightly treat. Again he was amazed at their youthful appearance and vigor. Cala's and Serge
