Chapter 20
"On our way to the beach, I stare out the window and embrace the beauty that's around me. We usually drive along the coast road and from where we are, the ocean is visible on my right. I can see a couple of seagulls flying around and I admire them. "
They look so free.
My phone rings and I cross my fingers and hope that it's not Blake again. Scott throws me a glance. I look at the screen and I thank God that it's only Roxy.
I answer and put her on speaker.
"Roxy, I say. "
"Where are you? I came over to your house and you weren't there. Scott isn't at his place either, she says. "
"Oh, I'm with Scott, we're headed to the beach. What's up? I ask as I tuck my hair behind my ear and stare out the window. "
