Chapter 1
EJ 🖋️
"Come find me Rebecca" Ruby saw a masculine figure crying and calling out to her. But she wasn't Rebecca why won't these dreams leave her alone?
The man in her dream as usually, his face was covered in fog.
In another setting, Ruby saw herself again. like in the first dream, it played before her like a movie in a big screen. She could not just watch it but surprising she felt tingles when she felt him walk towards the also faceless girl in her dreams.
Tingles, this was knew she never felt them before, the tingles. The only thing she used to feel the emotions in his words but never tingles.
"Come on Rebecca, let's go watch the play. It's been so long since you told me you wanted to see that play and I finally got permission from the merchant to take you out please don't let it be in vain"
The faceless man wishphered placing his hand on her shoulder.
"No.. go away. You talked to her and you promised me you wouldn't." The Rebecca girl complained to the faceless man.
"But.. I told you before I did so." The man said trying to convince her.
He must definitely love her a lot. Ruby thought.
"Ruby.."
"I didn't..." The images were fading away.
"Ruby.."
"Ruby Simon..." She felt someone call her and apply force while shaking her shoulders.
"Wake up Ruby you're having those dreams again." She could hear the voice calling her back to reality but she didn't want to go back
"Wait a bit she's gonna turn.." Ruby heard her voice say to the person.
The memory became so fogged that when he turned her towards him she was awake. Even if the memory was fogged, Ruby was sure she saw her eyes. The eyes of the girl that taunts her nightmare.. Rebecca's and they were same color as her's the color Ruby.
"Mom.." Ruby felt herself call out hugging the person who woke her up. She could feel herself drenched in sweat.
"Hey baby, you had one of those dreams again?" Jennifer asked still hugging her daughter.
"Mm" Ruby moaned nodding her head.
"Sorry dear but if you don't get ready right now, you might be late for you interview. It's your dream school." Jennifer said making ruby fully awake.
How could she forget? This was all she's ever wanted to go to that school, to defy Maria Simon. One so far away from her father and grandma. It wasn't so faraway but that's cause they thought she was going to Harvard.
"Oh mum how could I forget you're such a darling." Ruby said kissing her Mother's cheeks in a hurry.
In a haste, Ruby took her Mother's hand to stand up and she suddenly fell back to the bed eyes pale white without a trace of her ruby orbs and body as cold as death.
Ruby a clairvoyant seem to forget her one rule that's help her through this torture and pain. Never touch anyone when you wake up in the morning till your palms have met with direct sunlight, or till it's twelve pm.
"Ruby dear what happened? Is it your visions again?" A worried Jennifer asked but knew better than to touch the girl.
In Ruby's head, there was her mother driving in her car towards Jessica, her younger sister's school.
But she didn't make it caus her e car's break was bad and the car kept increasing its speed and wouldn't stop when her mother used both hand and leg breaks.
The car kept moving at such an insane speed till it crashed into a lorry and exploded cause her mother's car hit the lorry's fuel tank.
In Ruby's visions, she couldn't tell what time or day it was she could only distinguish it from the clothes the person involved wears and her mother was wearing the same clothes she in the vision that she was wearing now.
Snapping out of her vision gasping with tears rolling out of her eyes, she saw her mother handing her a glass of water.
"Mother. " Ruby said hugging the woman's petite frame crying badly ignoring the glass of water stretched out to her.
"Mom. Please don't take your car today. Take a cab and send it to the mechanic." Ruby said with tears streaming down her eyes that her voice wasn't even clear, Jennifer could bearly make out what she was saying.
"Calm down baby. What happened?" Her mother asked her giving her a glass of water.
After drinking the water, ruby handed the cup back to Jennifer who dropped it on the bedside stool close to the glass jug she poured the water in the cup from.
After a while , Jennifer sat on her daughter's bed,. She asked her now calm daughter what happened.
"What did you see in your visions child?"
"I saw you.. y-you got into an accident today cause your car breaks were bad and you couldn't control the speed. It just kept driving fast until you crashed."
"How do you know it's today? And I'm not gonna die stop crying so much please"
"Mum, you were putting on this same clothes, a-and.." Breathe child breath. Jennifer coaxed her daughter
"and it's the same one in my vision."Ruby said after talking in deep breaths.
"So what are you suggesting?" Jennifer asked placing her hand on Ruby's cheeks pinching it lightly.
She already knew where this conversation was heading but she knew her daughter needed to talk about it to get over her fear.
What exactly did Ruby see that made her so frightened? Jennifer wondered but decided to keep it to herself. Her daughter was already very frightened she wouldn't want to worsen it.
"Mum, please don't take your car. Send it to the mechanic. Someone has plans to murder you." Ruby said holding Jennifer's hand.
"Okay I will. But, you owe me one. You're making a CEO take a cab." Jennifer joked making both mother and daughter laugh.
"I'll get going now so you can prepare okay?" Jennifer said standing up before exiting the room to which Ruby replied with a nodded.

Ruby's POV.
I couldn't imagine my mother being dead. I know who could tamper with mother's car. The only person that wants her dead. Thank God I broke my rule.
Hi, I'm Ruby Smith currently eighteen. I'll be nineteen in November, November six.
I stood up from my bed and rearranged my black sheets and duvet cover. For some reason, I'm such a lover of black.
Walking into my bathroom, I took off my black shorts and singlet, walked towards the cabinet and took out my shaver for a shave. I loved being neat.
Lavender has to be the best thing that happened to Earth and I'm so in love with it.
I was going to use a bath but opted for a shower it was 9:20 already. My interview was 1pm and I was taking that stupid Laura with me cause she found out I applied for the school she wanted and not havard this was payback.
I knew my father and grandma would forgive me but I need to gain this admission first else I can kiss this good bye. The admission is my ticket to forgiveness.
I took my bath and washed my hair. Having naturally straight White almost silver hair was a blessing and most times a curse.
For today, it was going to be a curse if I didn't hide it well. My grandmother has connection all over the State even in Greenville University, my dream school.
There was only one person in the country with my colour of hair. The young Madam of the Matthew Simon- family.
I can't afford to get caught I'll kiss going to Greenville goodbye, Business goodbye, dancing too. My grandma would make sure I'm studying medicine.
It's not like I can't do that but I am to inherit mother's fashion line. I have a feeling grandma doesn't want me to that's why she's being persistent I study medicine.
I'm a heiress not some meek medicine student and ohh blood, I don't think anyone hates the sight of that more than me.
I stepped out of the bathroom and saw my clothes on my bed as well as breakfast. My mother was such a darling.
I picked out a pair of red grandma panties. Grandma panties we're so comfortable, and red silk bra.
I put on my black leggings, blue tank top and black sandals.
Having Jauth fashion CEO as a mum means I get latest clothes and there's a bonus as her model. There's no one here in Napour as a country that doesn't know my mother.
Let's just say I was born into wealth. My father runs the biggest wine barrel in the country and more My mother, the biggest clothing line. We also have a real estate business, Boutiques, jewelry store and supermarkets, etc in our name.
I had my breakfast of hamburger and cheese, carried my black bag and a black hijab for my hair after putting it in a bun.
My parents weren't Muslim nor christians they served someone called the moon goddess but we're christians for official reasons. I only have hijabs and scarfs because I loved sneaking out and I don't want my hair to get me found. I'm so adventurous.
I made my way towards my balcony, making use of my balcony ladder that's meant to be replacement for the stairs and head out. Grandma is supposed to be at the Jewelry store at Greenville today for supervision but I know she won't leave until she taunts me for waking up so late, an unfit character for a medical student and a heiress.. gosh I hate her.
I went into the garage to take my sport car. Even if I was would be wearing my hijab later, I need to make an appearance. OPPS, I forgot I also need to pickup Laura. Ohh I need her to be jealous.
I was intelligent, beautiful, Smart and wealth, while Laura wasn't as smart as I am she was also quite beautiful but not my fault she has chocolate brown hair and eyes like her mother over Ruby and white.
It was 10:34am when I drove out of the garage and headed for the car. I loved rolling down my window and sometimes my rooftop. Today was both; and I heard grandma calling after me.
"Ruby. Ruby you ruthless child, come back here." I heard her call but wasn't planning on going hack. Heck my black car and I were racing out of the mansion.
"Close the gates. Don't let her escape." I heard her voice behind me but poor woman forgot we have electric gates and I am a hacker.
"Ma'am the gated won't close." The gatman replied eyeinge while I gave him my middle finger.
"Mother please calm down." I heard my mother cry out to De Maria Simon.
As soon as I drove out, The mansion gates immediately closed.
I picked up my phone to call that Laura
"Hello bitch." I said God I hate this girl I hate her so much and she does know it.
"Good morning to you too cousin." She said in a very high pitched voice. See, I hate her.
"You'll better get your ass out of your gate in the next twelve minutes or you're getting yourself another ride." I said ending the call and taking the U-turn to her house.
"Hey Mum." I said as I picked my ringing phone.
"Lemme guess, your Mother in-law wants to speak with me?" I asked making her chuckle.
"No, I wanted to." My mother said laughing. I don't know what's so funny but I joined her in laughing. That woman was my life.
"Why are we laughing mum." I asked making her laugh harder.
"You remind me of my younger days with my mother I was so rebellious too but don't over do it okay?" Mother said after laughing to her hearts content.
"Okay." I replied
"Good luck with your interview, all the best." She said
"Thank you mother. I'll definitely do well."
"Okay bye honey my cab is here."
"Bye mother." I replied disconnecting the call before playing my songs on my car as I continued my drive to Laura's house.
"Hey cousin. " Laura said entering the back seat.
She knew better than to cross me. She was outside when I got to Thier gates. Everyone knows how much I hate her mother.
Snubbing her pretentious greeting was best for both of us. I increased the volume of the music and sped towards Greenville.
