Savannah’s POV I heard the word beach and was already reaching for a towel before Martha finished her sentence. Fun felt like the only reasonable defence against everything else. Julian followed without a word, which was somehow more annoying than if he had argued about it. My irritation was long forgotten the moment we arrived at the little beach, which took my breath away. The water was impossibly clear, the sand soft beneath my feet and the cliffs on either side closed the rest of the world out completely.
