Alina was still sleeping when she felt something soft on her face. It was Aiden’s hand.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw him leaning close, already dressed, looking at her tenderly.
“Good morning, sunshine,” he said, kissing her forehead.
She rubbed her eyes softly as she sat up. “You’re already dressed for work? Did you eat?”
“I made breakfast,” he said. “You should eat early too. I just wanted to see you before I left.”
He stood and straightened his shirt as Alina slowly got off the bed, stretching a little.
“Alright. Take care at work,” she said, hands moving to his tie as she adjusted it.
He gently held her hands, and they walked outside together.
She stood by the door and watched him walk to the car. Jesse honked softly in greeting, and Alina nodded back.
