The next morning, when Ryder woke up, he couldn't find Xena by his side. He rubbed his eyes and climbed out of bed, going to search for her.
"Xena." he called out her name as he neared the bathroom, wondering if she was in there.
When he got no response, he turned to walk out of the room to find her.
But the moment he pulled the door open, he saw her standing there with a tray of food, a bright smile on her face too.
"Good morning, Alpha." She greeted, a cheerful smile spreading across her succulent lips.
Ryder, seeing his mate, finally calmed down and let out a relieved laugh.
"Good morning, Luna." He returned the greeting and reached out to help her take the tray to the bedside table.
