As dawn rises, it is the start of my adventure, well the real adventure…
What will be the first thing I would do if this was a game? Hmm, Oh! I should start on completing quests as soon as possible. I get up and leave the inn I was staying in, good thing the inn keeper let me stay for my first night, which was nice of him…
I went to the guild as fast as I could, I was so excited for my first adventure. As I was walking by I saw some people greeting me, am I that famous? It was maybe due to the case of me being a sorcerer first try? Moreover, I even sensed the envious eyes of many. I didn’t care and I continued to walk heading to the guild.
As I arrive, I quickly approach the front desk. “Um, Hi? Where can I see the available quests for beginner adventurers like me?” I asked.
“Oh, if you would like to avail quests just look it up at the questboard to your right. If you can find an interesting and simple quests that suit you, tear off the flyer and then give it to me for me to approve it.”
“Alright, thanks! I’ll be back with a flyer then! Thank you so much!” I said and faced away and headed towards the questboard.
“You’re certainly welcome, and do pick one that is simple for you, we don’t have the responsibility of you getting severely hurt and not completing the quest.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine, and besides I won’t die in my first quest.”
“Well then, go ahead and choose a quest, and remember, one quest at a time.”
“Okay! See ya!” I said while waving my hand. I approach the said questboard filled with flyers with various quests. There are a lot of quests, but I can’t seem to see a nice quest for a beginner like me.
“Oh, this seems interesting.”
Kill 5 Dire Wolves
for 5 Gold Coins
*extra kills will result in 10 silver coins each*
This looks interesting, this may seem to be a good quest for me I just need to slay atleast five dire wolves. I tear off the flyer and headed back to get my quest approved.
“Is this what your first is going to be Shane?” the clerk asked.
“Um, yes, it certainly will be the first quest in my adventure indeed, and it pays well too.”
“Well, you may look unexperienced, but you said you came from a town far away? You wouldn’t do badly, and you even have good gear too. Go on ahead, I approve of this quest, but be careful, dire wolves may be a little tricky to deal with when they’re in packs.”
“Okay got it! Thanks!” As I head on and ran in excitement.
“Oh Shane, one more thing, do sure to find someone to fight with. Dire wolves are much better handled when you’re not alone.” The clerk added.
“Okay!” As I ran towards the outside of the building. I thought to myself, where can I find a companion to help me in my quest?
Hmm, Oh well, there isn’t someone I know here, maybe there is some people who were reincarnated into this world like I was, I hope I can meet up with them soon.
I look around, looking for someone suspicious that may not originally from this town, but I don’t seem to see someone suspicious, Oh well, off to the forest then.
As I approach the outskirts of the town, I saw a tiny glimpse of the forest. I hurried over and saw a beautiful forest. The forest looks so cool, so this is what a forest looks like, well in a video game atleast. I’ve been locked in my room for so long I don’t know what an actual forest looks like.
“It’s time I find myself some dire wolves.” I said to myself.
As I was searching for dire wolves, I hear someone scream from afar. I quickly rushed to where I heard the scream from, and then I saw a girl surrounded by what seems like the dire wolves in the flyer, so this is what dire wolves look like.
“Well, since I’m here, I can atleast help.” I jumped and slammed the ground in the middle which scared the dire wolves, making them back up. I sense their intent to kill me.
“No time for introductions, I’m here to help.” I said to the girl.
While I was looking through my gear for something to fend off the wolves, I saw a book and then I opened it. It was a spell book, well I am a sorcerer.
Fireball
- offensive spell
- deals 30-40 damage to monsters
- costs 10 mana per use
- shoots out a ball of fire to a specific area in your range of sight
- deals AoE damage in a medium radius
- has a 30% chance to burn enemies hit
This looks interesting, then… Fireball! I shot out a fireball from my bare hands, and I shot it where more dire wolves will get hit. Amazing.
Yes, but wait… These look like formidable enemies indeed. I shot out another fireball, Fireball!
Some died but some are still alive. The dead ones shattered into tiny looking crystals? This clearly screams it’s from a game but no time to think about that, and then they called for reinforcements.
“U-Um, I can help, I am a warrior, but I still am a rookie, but I’ll try my best!” said the girl behind me.
“Great! That would be a huge help! Thanks!” I said to her, she stood up and dashed right into them and swinged her sword. But wow, and she said she was a rookie but look at those sword skills. Enough staring and start fighting, Geez.
We were fighting for about five minutes and then we finished them off.
“Phew, that was a handful wasn’t it?” I sighed and looked at the girl. For a said ‘rookie’, she was quite skilled.
“It really was, by the way thanks! I’m Diana, and you?” she replied with a smile while wiping off her sweat from her forehead.
“Well, I’m Shane! Nice meeting you Diana!” I said while still catching my breath.
“Nice to meet you Shane.” She smiled at me.
“Well, what happened Diana? Why were you surrounded by wolves?” I said confusedly.
“I was ambushed while taking a little rest to replenish my HP, but then you jumped out of nowhere and came to help me. And it gave me enough time to fully recover.” She said while she’s packing up her stuff.
And I thought she was a damsel in distress… sigh.
“By the way, let’s head back to town.” I said.
“Okay, let’s do that.” She gushed.
He then headed back to town, when suddenly I sensed something off. She’s different from the others in this world, she acts as if she’s not from here. Could it be? That she was also reincarnated in to world? I must ask her after I submit the quest completion.
“Ms. Clerk! I finished the quest!” I yelled while I rushed towards her.
“Oh? Let me see, hmmm, it looks like you surely did complete the quest Shane, and you even slain a couple more dire wolves, that makes it 5 gold and 60 silver coins in total. Congratulations on your first quest Shane!” She exclaimed.
“Uh, thanks, I guess?” I scratched my head, didn’t know what to say, and Diana also submitted in her card for quest completion, she was doing the same quest as I am?
“Oh? You completed the same quest as well, here, your 5 gold coins and 20 silver coins for slaying two more wolves.” She handed over the coins to Diana and she accepted it.
“Thanks.” Diana replied.
By then the clerk comes to me slowly and said.
“Well? Is she your partner? Shane?” She said in very vague manner.
“Huh? Not at all Ms. Clerk, it was just a coincidence.” I replied embarrassed.
“I see, well, she’s not bad for a partner I say. Why not ask her for dinner at the inn tonight? Talk to her for a bit.” She giggled.
“Well, I can try?” I laughed a little of what her said.
“Goodluck boy!” she hit my back and laughed.
I can try? I can get some information regarding if she was reincarnated into this world or not if she would even say it, we just met, but I guess I’ll give it a try, and then I slowly approached her.
“U-Um, Diana? Are you free tonight? I was wondering if you would go out to eat with me. In commemoration of our friendship, what do you say?” I said lively.
“Oh, I would love to Shane!” She replied with sparkles in her eyes.
We headed out of the inn, I look back and saw the clerk gesturing me goodluck, sheesh.
We found the nearest inn and went inside, we asked for a table for two. Once we were seated at our table I asked Diana one question.
“Diana? May I ask you a question? I said.
“What is it Shane?” She looked at me confused.
“Were you… perhaps, reincarnated into this world?”
