Alpha’s Hope

EZEKIEL'S POV

“ Alpha?” Avery asked me.

“Hmm.” I sighed.

“I don’t feel comfortable without any weapons with me. How could I protect my Alpha from any harm.” She complained.

“C’mon Ave.. I was the one who demanded a meeting and my intentions are not hostile besides Alpha Jev’s a reasonable man. I realy don’t think he will attack us for just being here unless you won’t be a little spitfire as usual.” I smirked.

“Understood.” she answered.

“Oh, here we go. I can sense the border shield already and the openning must be near. I know I shouldn’t mention this but Ave please behave when we are on thier territory. “ I said kindly.

“Yes Alpha.” Her answer was sharp and I knew she wouldn’t hold herself back over even a tiny sparkle of disrespect to me. Taking her with me was a huge risk for she’s always a raging time bomb, but I didn’t have any choice. Mickey had to be one left behind for the pack on my absence.

“ Alpha, I feel my skin is burning. So can we please enlarge our distance to border ?” she asked me.

“What? I—umm I didn’t notice I am sorry, of course, let’s move away.” I told her.

This was strange. I could sense and see the border shield but it was not radiating heat. Border shields sepertates territories from no man’s land with a wall of blur and radiates a hell heat for strangers. Any stranger wolf cannot bare to even being close the border for 10 meters. But for me this shield was not working properly. I strecth my arm to the blur to test my theory. Yup ! Nothing. No burn, no harm. Well.. Surely Alpha Jev did something to the border shield for our arrival. But Avery were feeling the heat. Then it must be an Alpha thing. It should be…

After half an hour we were at the gate at last. Guards mindlinked their superiors and they told us to wait. They offered us coffee and some sweet which was perfect for us. We had not had any fresh and boiling hot coffee for almost a week. While we were sipping our hot beverages we heard crushing leaf sounds and by the time Avery spitted her coffee and rushed to the openning with her wolf speed.

“Oh God, no no no!! Ave please don’t ! You will make us both killed god dammit!!” I yelled her.

“Mate.” was her only reaction.

She was like she was hypnotised and frozen like a statue. Her eyes were widen and darken, her body was shaking. I thought she would pass out. Her legs started to tremble and she lost her balance. I rushed to hold her but a pair of strong arms were much more faster than me. There was a tall muscular boy next to the old Alpha which I supposed that he would be the future Alpha.

“ Mate.” He exhaled the breathe that he was holding. His hair was ginger as his beard not like his father. Strange.

“I’ve got you my lightning..” He said to Avery. His eyes ere also wide and dark. I could feel that their mate bond was covering them. He was looking at her with such an adoration and love. This was the first time that I witnessed a pair of mates’ finding eachother.

“Wow.. That’s almost magical.” I thought to myself. I couldn’t imagine their feelings, I mean if this thing affected me that much I couldn’t even imagine how they were feeling. Suddenly I felt I was so happy for Avery. This time her second chance mate was holding her so tight. But also I realized that I would be all alone on the way back home.

Both me and Alpha Jev shared a nod and smile. The way how he looked at me was strange. He Looked right into my eyes and I felt that he knew me already. Again this was strange.

“Alpha Jev it is an honour to meet you.” I submitted to him.

“Alpha Ezekiel..” he said but I interrupted him.

“Please call me Zeke.” I recommended.

“Ok then, Zeke welcome to our home. I suppose that you are so tired and your friend needs some special time for her obviously.” He smiled.

“So does your future Alpha.” I said with litte grin.

“Oh, no. Jacob is my gamma’s son. “ he said.

“Well Alpha, Avery is also my gamma. So they are quite a match I can say. “I said him proudly.

“Jacob is so lucky then, she’s the one he was looking for. I also can say that for sure. We were kind of sure he will be mateless because of his taste for women. Never say never huh! “ he answered while his face was shining with happiness.

“Just as you said Alpha.” I bowed to him. He accepted my obedience without confussion. This man was a natural borned Alpha not a an accidentally one like me.

Everthing about here was so damn strange. The way I felt for here and him was something I couldn’t named it at first, the very first moment I’d sensed the border it was something that belongs to me. This place had an enchanment over me. I was feeling whole actually which made me confused. This was the first time I had been in this land but the territory itself and its owner, Alpha, had such a power over me. That power can be everything but intimidating. I could say it was soothing, calming and trustful and that was why I bowed him willingly. I was so tired and confused by that time. I should get rest and work it out later I thought to myself.

“Maids prepared a cabin next to the pack house for you two. But I think this cabin will be just for you from now on. Get rest Zeke. We will achieve our meeting tomorrow morning.” He said.

“ I am grateful Alpha. Thank you again for accepting me.” I answered. He just nodded and we started to walk inside the pack silently. Jacob was carrying Avery in bridal style and walking behind his Alpha. Our eyes met with Avery and saw how happy she was yet she was worried. I gave an comfirming nod and she relaxed. I smiled at her and for the first time I saw her gorgeous smile back.

That feeling had got me. The feeling that I know this place and I belong here somehow. But I also thought that this must be my mind’s twisted game to make me more miserable, to make me remember that I have nothing, I have belonged nowhere. A poor, weak pack if someone could call a pack to those miseable people, no family, no mate and finally no hope…
