“We can not accept them until we figure out they are clean. I hate stangers and don’t want them in my pack but your demand is something I can never reject.” I said firmly.
“I know Zeke I know so trust me they are as clean as river Crimson.” He said hopefully.
“Oh god.. I hate to see you in this way man. I owe you too much to pay in a lifetime so I trust what you said Mickey. But you know hunting is soon. We need to move to shelters so I am not sure that they can cope with this. Being locked up for five days during the blue moon.” I said him and I really meant it. He was my only friend, brother, family and my beta for all these years. Michael was an honest, decent man. I was so lucky to have him. He was grandson of the healer of Red Cape. But with no ability of healing. Funny part was he was much more a destructive one then healing one. Clumsy and reckless.
“They already knew and they are ok with this. But they may need silver chains.” He shrugged.
“Then this is on you Mickey.” I grinned. “Dammit man. You are the worst”. He hissed.
It has been 17 years that strange incident happened in the castle. There were too many rumours but no one knows what happened that day exactly. Lord Bright and hunters have gone crazy that day. Right after his daughter’s funeral a great hunting party was set by Lord Brigth even it was not a blue moon. The daughter’s name was forbidden among the humans. That was a whole different story which I never cared. A vicious hunt, a m******e which caused my Alpha’s death and me became the Alpha of the Shine Pack at the age of six. I was practicaly a pup yet I had huge responsibilities. Our members raised me and made me their alpha. What a great Alpha huh!
We called our pack as Shine Pack but other packs never recognized us formally. For them we were just a bunch of rogues. It was not totally wrong actually for we were living in the shadows and hiding ourselves for decades.
Alpha Luke was my former alpha. More than an alpha he was my mentor, my father. I never knew about my past and actually never got curious about it. Alpha Luke told me that he found me out of the border shield opening when I was just a baby and he adopted me.
One week before that m******e he took me to the Crimson river and told me that my mom was his former beta’s mate but she was also the only sister of Alpha Jev of Breeze Wind Pack. They were both dead. He also told me that is something happens to him I should directly go to Breeze Wind Pack. I was just six so did not paid so much attention to his words which I regret now. And I remember he said something about Lord Bright’s daugther. Layla, Lily or something like that. I was not sure. But one sentence was imprinted to my mind.
“Tell them Ezekiel, tell them that she has a part of me son.”
I never had the strength to face the facts for years. I always found an excuse to avoid or postpone my visit to Breeze Wind Pack. But it has been a few weeeks that feeling has got me. My wolf was restless for I had to go there. For some reason I had to go and tell them what my father, my Alpha, Luke told me.
But then I had to deal with that blue moon hunt so I had a few days to plan my visit.
“I want everone in the shelters by the evening. Mickey set everything for mothers and pups. And don’t forget that Avery to tell they are all her responsibility. “ I said.
“Avery is already on that. She also arranged the female healer with her in order to take care of pregnant she-wolves if needed.” He told.
“She is a good choice for a gamma. I knew it. I hope she can get over this rejection mess soon. “ I said with sadness.
Avery was a strong she-wolf with features of a male wolf. It was not her nature but she wanted to be like this. Her haircut, outfits also her fighting skills were so masculen by her choice. She was gamma, my third in command, actually the very first female gamma in our pack. A less talk more action kind of wolf which I appriciated most. She found her mate two months ago. At the same day that I announced her as my gamma. Her douchebag mate rejected her immediately. He told her that he was not gay then left the pack. Avery stood tall and highheaded in order to show no weakness but my alpha senses were not easily fooled by her. I could sense her frustration. I hoped her second chance mate would be great for her. I was planning to take her with me for my visit to my “uncle’s pack”. Mickey could deal the pack stuff when we were away. But first we had to get rid of that bloody blue moon hunt. I cursed to fate. We were all predators but at that time we were helpless preys. God damn it..
Lord Bright was long gone but his so called heir was as vicious as him. Lord Taylor, bastard son of Lord Bright’s wing man, his second in command James “The Butcher.” He adopted him and gave all his legacy to him. Including the tradition of Blue Moon Hunt.
