Household Assistant

Even without looking in the direction the grim reaper was referring to, Darius could already tell what was happening. Years of being a messenger and working with all the grim reapers made it easy for him to guess what their words meant. Darius immediately ran and hit Clena's body until they both fell onto the pavement. But of course he did it carefully. He had already estimated the strength and angle he took to keep the girl from getting hurt. Fyuuh, thank goodness I was on time! He then looked annoyed at the grim reaper who was hovering above them with a thumbs up, as if to tell Darius that he had done a good job. In his heart he promised to beat that annoying grim reaper one day. He tried his best not to get up and pull the damn grim reaper by the collar when he saw the grim reaper suddenly holding his face while opening his mouth in an O shape, just like Edward Munch's scream painting. It was as if he was afraid of Darius' threat just now. "s**t!!" Darius grumbled in annoyance when he heard the sound of the car engine that almost hit Clena blaring loudly, before finally getting further away from them. Actually, he wanted to get up and run after the car and beat up the irresponsible driver. But with Clena now in his arms, he decided to ignore his intentions for a moment. He would take care of that damn driver later. Right now, he had more important things to take care of, which was Clena's safety. "Are you all right?" Darius focused his attention on Clena, who was still in his arms. The girl didn't answer Darius' question, she just blinked her eyes a few times with a flat look. Huh? Did Clena have a shock attack? If so, he should immediately take her to the hospital! Without waiting for Clena's response, he immediately carried the girl, standing on the side of the road looking for a taxi that could take them to the hospital. For him at this time, Clena was a profitable client who could double his points. Because for a messenger, the more complicated their client's worldly problems are, the more points they can get. Just as Darius was about to shout for a taxi, Clena suddenly grabbed his chest, "I'm fine" But Darius did not immediately believe her words. As a messenger who often sees human behavior, he realized that humans are very fragile creatures. They can even get hurt because of small things, for example, a word. He once had a client who had mundane problems with bullies who often taunted her verbally. "Put me down before you regret it." Darius tilted his head, not understanding what Clena meant. And as if she could read Darius's thoughts, Clena immediately moved her chin, as if asking Darius to look in the direction she was referring to. And the next second, Darius immediately put down Clena's body from his arms. Well, it seems that what Clena said was true. If he didn't put Clena down soon, he would definitely regret it. Behind him currently stood ten men with burly bodies and grim faces. They stared at Darius with piercing gazes, just like wild beasts ready to tear their prey to pieces. He quickly stepped back and hid behind Clena's body as one of the men walked towards him. “Hey, I saved you, miss. Please ask them to stop looking at me like they want to kill me!” Darius whispered in Clena's ear. Well, even though he is a messenger, he can still feel pain. And just yesterday he was in pain from being beaten by the debt collectors. The thought of him having to be beaten and hospitalized again was enough to tire him out. "He is my saviour." Thankfully, they stopped approaching as soon as Clena spoke. And for the first time Darius understood why other people felt scared around Clena. This girl had an intimidating aura radiating across her body. Her face was expressionless as she said that, but for some reason, that was precisely why she felt even more 'scarier' than ordinary people. Darius, who was observing Clena, immediately gasped in surprise when the girl suddenly turned and looked at him. This was the first time Darius had looked into Clena's eyes intently. Eyes that look cold without feeling. But even so, her eyes still sparkled, so clear and deep. Unfortunately, Darius subconsciously muttered, "Really pretty" "What?" Upon realizing his carelessness, Darius immediately shook his head and tried to divert the conversation. He didn't want Clena to think of him as a perverted stalker. Thankfully, Clena didn't seem to really care what Darius had just said. She suddenly walked away and left, continued walking without looking back, making him only stare at the girl's back with a sour face. In fact, he wanted to catch up with Clena and think of some of his usual approaches to his other clients. But, seeing the faces of those burly men made his guts shrink a little. As a result, he could only grumble. Hey! How could you leave without saying thank you! Didn't I just save you? He intends to immediately leave that place too. It seemed he had to think of another plan to approach Clena. Now he understood why the points of this one task were so big. Dealing with someone as cold as Clena did require a great deal of effort. "Where are you going?" Just as Darius was about to cross the street, Clena's voice suddenly stopped him. He then turned around, again surprised to see the girl standing behind him. Huh? Wasn't she already on the verge of re-entering her company? When did she walk here? "Ehm.. Looking for a place to.. stay?" Darius tilted his head, making an expression as if he was deep in thought. "I didn't ask that. What I mean is, where are you going with that injured body?” It was only when Clena asked that he realized his body was injured. His elbow was even bleeding profusely. "Come in. It can be dangerous if your wound is not cleaned.” After saying that, Clena then turned around again and walked inside her company. For the second time, she left Darius, who just stared at her back. Perhaps noticing that Darius was still standing and not following her, Clena stopped in her tracks again, staring at Darius with furrowed brows. "What are you waiting for? Come on!" "Ah! Yes! Thank you Miss!" Darius said while bowing his body. The smile on Darius' face suddenly widened as Clena suddenly spoke before walking again. "No, I'm the one thanking you for saving my life." And somehow Darius felt super happy. *** "Damn! Which company this time? Urrgh! If I catch them, I make sure to remove their limbs one by one and then go fishing on the sea and use their bodies as bait!” Guess who's nagging right now? Clena? Ting tong, wrong! The one currently nagging was Lorea. She clenched her fists with a wrinkled face full of anger. She doesn't even know how many pens she's crushed since earlier. Inwardly, Darius could only mumble, isn't this what is called not judging someone by their outward appearance? Lorea, who looks elegant and gentle, actually turns out to be a real 'thug'. He didn't even know how many curses he had heard coming out of Lorea's mouth. Ah yes, by the way, Darius is currently in Clena's office, receiving treatment from a doctor who is actually on duty at the company. Perhaps this is one of the most exciting things at the company that Clena leads. They have medical and psychiatric rooms for employees in their building. Unlike Lorea who was raging, Clena sat quietly in her chair while enjoying a glass of hot chocolate. Her calm expression made Darius wonder, was there anything that girl was afraid of? Even though earlier she could have been seriously injured due to a hit and run incident, which surprisingly was not the first time she had experienced it. From Lorea's scolding, he could tell that Clena's life was often in a dangerous position like that. “Those damn rivals!! Just because they can't compete with our sales, they're always using scheming!!” "You too! You should repay them! You just have to order me to do something, then I'll make sure those damn bastards cower in terror until they pee in their pants!” Darius shuddered, somehow he felt sure that Lorea could do it. "How? Has the wound been treated?” As if ignoring Lorea's words, Clena turned her gaze to the doctor who was treating Darius. The male doctor was very young, probably in his late 20s. “Yup, you don't have to worry! He will be fine.” The doctor named Deon then shifted his chair, which was originally in front of Darius, and approached Clena. He started to touch Clena's head, “Stop worrying about other people. You should also worry about yourself-” He said in a worried voice. Actually, from the first time he entered this room, Deon had come straight to Clena. He even ignored Darius, who was clearly more badly injured than Clena. Hem, seeing from how Deon looked at Clena, made Darius suspect that Deon liked her. But what became the object of concern was just shaking her head and slapping Deon's hand, "I'm fine" She said briefly. Deon could only sigh heavily when he heard Clena's words. He then looked at Lorea and said, "Well, I think I agree with what you said. We have to teach those bastards a lesson.” Lorea's eyes immediately lit up, "Right? So how is it Dee? Do you want to help me? You can prepare some medicine that can paralyze their bodies and…” The rest, he decided to ignore their conversation, which was already leading to illegal things. He did not want to be a witness to their evil chatter in front of God on the day of their fate in the afterlife. Trust him, it will be very troublesome! So he chose to look at Clena who was listening to Lorea and Deon's conversation. Seeing from the way they interacted, Darius concluded that the three of them were close friends. Hmm, looks like there's still a lot he doesn't know about Clena. And somehow there was a strange feeling in his heart. It felt like he wanted to unlock all the girl's mysteries. The mystery behind her flat expression, her way of thinking and her strange calm in the face of death. “Urrgh, those damn people…” Darius muttered under his breath. After this, he will try to ask the grim reaper about the identity of the hit-and-run perpetrator. Even though he had his limits on meddling in human affairs, he could at least give Lorea a hint. He was sure that the girl who was still talking about a very cruel criminal plan could complete her job well. "Oh s**t! I forgot you're still here." Lorea suddenly shouted while looking at Darius. She stopped all his 'annihilation' plans. But she gave Darius a sharp look while making a slashing motion with her thumb. As if to hint that Darius' life would be over if he leaked his talk just now. Well, of course, Darius happily complied. "You can go now. I will make sure you are rewarded for your bravery today.” Lorea said again, waving her hand at Darius. Just as Darius was about to protest and say that he didn't expect anything in return because he really wanted to save Clena, Lorea suddenly shouted. She snapped her fingers with sparkling eyes, as if she had just come up with a brilliant idea. “Aha! I know the most appropriate way to repay your courage! Didn't you say that you are still busy looking for a place to live and living expenses while studying here?” She smiled at Darius. To others, that smile looks very sweet and adorable. But for some reason, Darius just got goosebumps when he saw it. "You-" She said while pointing her index finger at Darius' face, "From today onwards you will be Clena's household assistant" And so, Darius unlocked a new kind of job in his history as a messenger: Household Assistant.
