Alpha King Enzo POV
Five years later
Sitting behind my office desk going through some paperwork, A knock came on the door. I perceived it was Jonathan and asked him in.
“You’re still busy?” He asked while frowned and ignored his question with my eyes still on the paper in front of me.
Sometimes he asks dumb questions when the answer is obviously right in front of him.
“Mr Nicklaus sent you a new proposal” He stated and I dropped the files in my hand.
“The Lycan king?” My brows furrowed into confusion.
“Yes, He wants to offer his first daughter’s hand in marriage to you in exchange for the contract, he states that’s his condition” Jonathan explained and I signed.
“You and I know that’s impossible” I said and focused back on the files.
“Really? Do you know how much we put into that contract? Beside that she’s a good lady and many big man out there wants her” He argued
“Well I’m not many big men out there I’m Just me” I respond and flip the paper over, he places his hand on the paper stopping me from doing anything further.
“What’s wrong with you? You know I can’t get married to anyone else so don’t act naive” I throw his hands off.
“It’s been five years Enzo and you still have her in mind? Did you forget that she’s the reason you lose your throne and everything you own?” He replied and these words got me pissed off.
“She’s never the reason! The ignorance I had then blind me from seeing the truth” I yelled back annoyed before I realised it and composed myself back.
“Since you have decided to keep quiet about this whole issue then I’m taking the offer whether you like it or not, it’s been five years and you need a woman in your life” He said laughing at his own last sentence.
“Like you have one in your own life” I scoffed and he placed a photo in front of me.
“Look at her!Tell me why you would not want someone this beautiful?” I stare at the photo for a few seconds before putting it aside and focus on my work.
“I don’t have time for this” I said,he takes his seat and I know he’s going into another conversation of persuading me into marriage.
“Do you think you’re getting younger? You will clock thirty-six soon and you’re waiting for your ex wife that is probably doing everything to get away from you each day that passes by ? Do you remember everything you did to her? Yet you’re here waiting for her?” He sounds annoyed the way he talks like a mother scolding her son.
“Do you really have to remind me what I did to her? She’s still my wife no matter where she is and I will find her, even if that’s what I will do last on my deathbed” I replied and stood on my feet putting on my suit.
“She’s never going to accept you” He says while I ignore him and heads out.
I know she will not accept me deep down inside myself but I will try, I will try all my best to get her to forgive me.
I promised myself that, immediately I got out of the office, my men joined me and we headed towards the elevator.
Jonathan will be rounding things up in the office and meet me home later, he’s not only my personal assistant but my beta back from the pack.
One of my men opened the car door for me and I stepped in, “should we head home sir?” The driver asked.
“No, let’s meet Mr Nicklaus” I said and took my iPad going through the business plan once again.
I put on my airpod distracting myself from external noise, we have gone too far into this project than to let it go at this point, two month project trillions spent?.
He got to be kidding me about these conditions,I removed my airpod and dropped my iPad getting down from the car.
I walked into the sliding glass door with my hand in my pant pocket, Mr Nicklaus men ushered me to their VIP lounge where he’s already sitting down with his daughter.
This man must really mean business, the young lady rose on her feet and bowed her head to me in respect.
“Sofia,My lord” She says while I just walk down to my seat.
She takes back her seat and I can feel her eyes on me, she’s really beautiful but my wife is more beautiful than she is.
“I didn’t expect you to come down here yourself anymore instead of sending your beta and we will go ahead with the wedding plan without further delay” Mr Nicklaus said, he wiped his mouth and raised his wine cup to mine.
He drinks while I put down the drink, “that’s because there won’t be any marriage” I said, releasing my suit button crossing my legs against each other.
“You realised the consequences of your choice Mr Enzo right?” He asks.
“Yes I know that but does your daughter know I’m married to someone before? Beside she’s young and could see young suitor of her age out there”
“I don’t mind the age” She replied before her dad could say something.
“I’m married to Peace and your father knows that Sofia” I take my drink zipped from it.
“Isn’t this issue of your ex wife long gone? She’s nowhere to be found for years and if you get married now you can still get your throne back before it’s too late” He says and I chuckles.
“You talk like you’re doing me a big favour, Nicklaus” I smile.
“That’s because I’m and you know that” He says.
“That’s the more reason why I can’t accept it, I dislike owing people like you this type of favour. Beside my wife not my ex wife” I smiled and stood on my feet.
“I can be your second wife. Besides, your ex wife is the same age as me, that’s not an excuse” Sofia said breathing heavily, I can hear her heartbeat from where I’m standing.
Mr Nicklaus looked up to me and back to her daughter. I walked slowly to the other side of the table and held Sofia’s shoulder.
She’s really a beautiful young lady like they say but she’s desperate to have me and I don’t like that “Find another condition for the contract and you find yourself a better man not me because I’m a beast” I whisper the last part to Sofia’s ear.
“I will be expecting your reply tomorrow morning. ‘’ I said and buttoned my suit back ready to leave.
“Think about it again and if you still don’t accept it then prepare for some cut back” He replied.
“Okay” I replied and strode out.
Getting back to the car, I dial one of my men’s lines immediately.
“Double the search on My wife and bring me good results within twenty four hours” I said immediately he picked up.
“That won’t be necessary again sir”
“What do you mean it won’t be necessary?”
“Yes boss, we just found her in L.A airport with two babies” He replied.
