CHAPTER 9 : Winter Vacation?

*Yura’s POV*
Ding dong… Knock knock knock…
Argh, who’s banging my door this morning.
“Yura, open the door please” Ahh, that’s Kaya.
I opened the door and Kaya jumps to me, she hugs me and said,
“I am so excited! Our principal just called us the student council to school, just to give us a vacation coupon!” she said excitedly.
“WOAAHH. Really??? To where?” I asked with the same excitement.
“Jeju island! He has a plenty of it. I have three, one is for you, the other one is for the Jaejin oppa, I’ll introduce him to you” she said
“Eh? Who’s Jaejin oppa? Your boyfriend?” I asked confusedly
“I think he likes me, and I do too. But we’re not a couple, yet... You wanna come with us right?” she asked me with her puppy eyes.
“OF COURSE I WILL COME WITH YOU!! When is it, I have to apply for leave” I said.
“Mmm, It’s tomorrow, we have 3 days 2 nights’ hotel coupon too… Hehehe, please?” she pleaded.
“Wow, okay. But you have to tell me everything about this Jaejin oppa! I can’t believe you hide it from me” I said and laughed with Kaya.

The next day, 9 AM
Today, we’re going on a trip. I am so excited. I know, Kaya will stick to her oppa, but the idea of a vacation thrills me, I need it. It’s Christmas holiday for God’s sake.
As usual, I make my bed, take a shower, brush my teeth, and I’m all set. The flight is at 2 PM, so I still have time to take out the trash. When I open the door, Hongsik greets me,
“Good morning Yura! Merry Christmas… How do you do?” He smiled at me softly.
“Hi Hongsik! Good morning, I’m good. How about you? Are you going to take out your trash too?” I asked.
“Yup, I’m very good. It’s good to have some family time. We haven’t meet in 2 days, and you look so happy. Did I miss something?” He laughed.
“Hahaha, just so excited for today’s trip. You’re coming right? Jeju island?” I asked.
“Of course, I’m with the boys” he answered.
“Wow, that’s nice. Well, I’ll see you at the airport then?” I replied.
“Why don’t we go together to the airport?” he suggested.
12 PM
I finally followed his suggestion and we went together to the airport.
“Yura!!” I hear Kaya’s voice from afar. I see him holding hands with a guy. That must be Jaejin oppa.
She runs to me and hug me.
“I’m glad you made it. Hi Hongsik!” she greeted Hongsik and then she gives me the ‘look’. I smile at her.
“Right, guys, this is Jaejin oppa. We met 3 days ago at the karaoke, and I think we’re meant for each other” as they intertwining their hands, with a heart-shaped eyes. They’re so in love. Hongsik and I exchange glances, and laugh at them. I’m happy for her.
“Hongsik!” someone shouted. We look back and we find Dohyun, Chan, Minseok, and Seojun.
I exchange glances with Dohyun and we smile at each other. He became softer after that day.

*Dohyun’s POV*
I get off the car, and see Yura, Hongsik, Kaya and another guy standing in the lobby. Yura looks so cute with her outfit, can’t take my eyes off her. Me and the boys approach them, Yura look at me and she smiles at me. I can’t help it, my heart flutters as I replied her smile. Oops, Hongsik is looking at us.
I’m sorry Hongsik, I won’t just give up this time.
We are at the check-in counter, Yura wants to lift her suitcase to the scales, I rush to help her. But Hongsik’s faster. He lifts her suitcase right away and put it on the scales. Yura smiles at him and thank him. I hate it when she gave us the same expression. I can’t tell.
I sit with Hongsik on the plane, I keep glancing at Yura. I think Hongsik notices that.
“Do you like Yura too? You keep looking at her since you came” he asked me bluntly.
“I… I don’t know Hongsik, but I keep wanting her around, and now I feel worried about her, like when she was sick on Christmas” I replied Hongsik honestly. He turns his head to me,
“She was sick on Christmas?” he asked. Well I think he doesn’t know.
“Yeah she was. She brought me home after the Christmas eve’s party, because I was drunk, and she was sick the next day, so I took care of her” I said. I know he likes her, but he’s my best friend, I can’t lie to him.
“Dohyun, let me know when you’re sure about your feelings. Let’s have healthy competition” he said.
“What? How can I do that? You’re like a brother to me” I replied confusedly.
“We can do it. Just go with the flow, don’t force anything, follow your heart, if you like her, then do it like a man. I’ll do the same” he smiled at me.
I swear, this is the first time I heard him asking me to compete. Especially we’re competing for a woman, never happened in my life.
“Okay! I agree. But whoever wins, we’re still brother right?” I asked, not wanting to lose my best friend.
“Of course, stupid” Hongsik replied. Well I hope he’s sincere, because I am.

*Yura’s POV*
Ahh… finally! Jeju Island!! I can’t wait to meet the beach.
“Guys, here’s the room arrangement. Yura with Kaya, Chan with Seojun, Dohyun with Jaejin Hyung, and I’ll be with Minseok” said Hongsik as he continues reading the room arrangement for the other student council members, and we can go to our room.
Hongsik gave us only 2 rules: always give update in the group chat, and back to the hotel before midnight.
I can tell he’s very responsible, It’s a right choice to make him lead us.
“Yura! Do you want to grab a meal with me?” asked Hongsik. I look at him and then look at Kaya again.
Kaya is mouthing “Go with him!” while hugging Jaejin oppa’s arm. Okay, she wants to be with Jaejin oppa, so I guess I can go with Hongsik. I agreed to his invitation and went with him.
“You’re not with the boys?” I asked him while slurping my Hairtail soup. He smiles at me and said,
“Nope, I want to spend more time with you. Didn’t I tell you that I want to know you more? Hahaha… the boys are on the beach” he laughed.
“Hahaha, what do you want to know about me, there is nothing much about me” I replied.
“Maybe you can start to tell me about Christmas… Were you sick? Did Dohyun took care of you?” He asked.
“Wow where did you get that? Did Dohyun tell you?” I asked confusedly. He nods.
“Well, Dohyun was really drunk at the Christmas eve’s party, I don’t know his house, so… I brought him home. The next day, my body feels hot and turns out I was sick” I told him briefly.
“Why did you bring him home in the first place. Were you not afraid? Didn’t you remember what he did to you?” his voice started to rise.
“Why are you blaming me? I tried to bring him to your house, and you didn’t open the door, maybe you were asleep that day. Is that my fault?” I rose my voice too. I can’t believe he blamed me.
“I’m not blaming you… Hhh, okay I’m sorry. But I feel worried, I don’t want you to carelessly let random person in, especially men” He replied.
“Why Dohyun is a random person to me? I don’t think he is. First he is my boss, he goes to the same school as me, and he is your best friend. After all, he took care of me when I was sick. What are you afraid of?” I replied in disbelief.
“Yura, you don’t really know him… I told you he’s bad at handling woman” he said.
“Hongsik, I can’t push away people who hasn’t done anything wrong to me. Please understand” I said.
“Right…” he silenced before he added “Just don’t let your guard down. Now let’s go back” he said.

I know he’s worried but, why does it feel like he’s hiding something? Should I be worried too?
When we arrive at the hotel, Hongsik suddenly stops and I look at him.
He’s looking to the front in shock, I follow his eyes and I find Dohyun.
