CHAPTER 3: He's Not Going Anywhere

*Yura’s POV*

I walk with Kaya to her house, she asked me what happened between me and Dohyun, of course.

“So, tell me what happened just now?” she asked excitedly.

I tell her the whole story, and her reaction is expected.

“WHATTT???!! You slapped Dohyun for that reason? Are you out of your mind?? He is Dohyun. Do you have any idea who he is??!!” she screamed.

“It’s self-defense, duh. How can you let someone touching and hugging you like that, especially with a flirty attitude? And besides, I know he is the school’s celebrity, but it doesn’t mean he can do whatever he wants to people.” I replied.

“Most of the girls in school probably pray every day to be in your position, hugged by Dohyun” she sighed.

Thinking back, I was actually stunned by his face. I can’t lie, he has the most beautiful hazelnut eyes, and his hair is so soft, nice skin, he is tall and has a strong arm too. No wonder the girls are crazy about him; he sure has that celebrity vibe. Ugh, my face is warm…

“Your face is red. what are you thinking?” Kaya asked.

“Uhm, nothing. So what are we going to eat tonight?? I’m so excited!” I said happily.

And the conversation continues.

We arrive at Kaya’s house; she has the warmest family. We eat, laugh, and telling stories. What a night!

After dinner, I go to Kaya’s room, just to chit-chat.

“Kaya, what are you thinking about part-time job? Only for this holiday?” I asked.

“Hmm, haven’t really thought about it. What about you?” she replied.

“After I heard what your mom said, I think I want to give it a shot. Maybe working at a convenience store, or a café would be nice?” I said.

“Yup that’s a good choice for you… But Yura, I think I’m not a café person, or convenience store person… To be honest, I once thought about this, I want to work at a night club. Hahaha… but my parents won’t allow me, so I gave up long time ago” she said.

“Well, what about you work there secretly, no one needs to know. I can help you keeping the secret” I brutally said. I don’t know why am I dragging myself in her trouble, but here I am.

“… You okay? You just said something you wouldn’t normally do. Did Dohyun did something to you? Hahaha”

Kaya is right, normally I won’t lie for something like this. Well, I think I just wanna repay her kindness towards me all this time.

“Yura, actually you don’t need to overthink. Remember our age, we are 18. The night club is not for us, we’re not legal yet. Let’s try again in 2 years hahaha” she added.

“We? Us? You kidding. You’re the one who wants all that hahaha” I laughed.

“in 2 years, you’re gonna join me in the night club. C’mon together forever” she teased.

“Whatever” we laughed

Tonight is such a beautiful warm night. We laugh till night, scrolling our phone, telling stories, just besties-thing. Until she shows me something.

“Speaking of the devil, I found this on i********:. Do you know DH media?” she asked.

“Yeah, who doesn’t? Why?” I asked.

“DH Café is hiring a part-timer. You know, it’s a café on the 1st floor in the building, so many fans are waiting for their idol there. It’s so popular because many people already saw idols and actors visiting the café. You wanna see?” she said.

“Hell yeah~ Let me see” I replied. Wow she is not kidding; the café is hiring.

“Kaya, I think I want to give it a shot”. I said excitedly.

Kaya looks at me for 2 seconds, and she said, “O… Okay”

“Kaya, can’t believe it’s 11 PM already, I think I have to go home now” me frantically looking at the clock.

“Time sure is running fast. Okay then. Be careful. Do you want me to get you a cab?” she asked.

“Oh, no thanks. It’s Christmas holiday, everybody is out on the streets. Don’t worry, it’s not dangerous hahaha” I laughed.

“Okay see you then” she said.

“Yup see you, wish me luck for tomorrow!” I bid her bye-bye.

I am walking on the street, looking at everyone who is laughing happily, being all cuddly with their partner. Sure this is the best time of the year.

Almost home, I hear men’s laughing voice in the alley next to my apartment. I peek a little bit, just to make sure they’re not dangerous. I saw this 5 tall men, drinking, smoking, laughing together in a circle, but I saw something familiar, it’s our uniform! My school’s uniform!

Wow that’s a wild move for a high school student, I take a look closer, and I see him. HIM.

Dohyun-bastard, Head of student council Hongsik, and the other school’s celebrity; It’s Dohyun’s gang!

Hah… this is my chance, I’ll take a picture of them, just in case he tries to mess with me anytime soon.

Oops... my flash is on! s**t I have to run, NOW.

“Who’s there??!!” said one of the boys. “Let’s go check!”

I run as fast as I can, and finally reach my unit, I immediately locked my door, and peeking through the door. I saw them running outside.

“Be careful, they might be your neighbor” said one of them.

“As long as they’re not a student from our school, I think it’s okay” said the other one, and they go quietly, I sigh heavily, FIUHH that was close.

Wait, did they just say NEIGHBOR?? One of them live here?!

I took a shower and laying on my bed, thinking about what happened today. I checked my phone and look at the picture I took today. It’s a picture of Kaya’s family, our dinner together, my selfies with Kaya, and the boys in the alley. I zoom in to see their faces. I didn’t expect them to be this wild, especially Hongsik.

I take a close look, and find myself looking at Dohyun’s face, he looks so happy laughing with his friend, with a bottle of soju in his hand. As I remember, his hair is so soft, his laugh is beautiful, why can someone as attractive as him turns out to be a jerk?

As I’m thinking how he has a strong grip, his hands around my waist, wiped my tears, his menthol breath. I can’t help it, my heart is beating so fast, my face is getting warm again. Am I falling for his looks? Nah, I’m not one of those girls.

I fell asleep without realizing.
