XVIII-1

XVIIIThe five adventurers made it outside the Rainvale after pushing themselves into a forced march in order to avoid the imminent rain. They were skirting the Valwald River, which was still a raging torrent through that particular stretch. The path they followed was all downhill, and the closer they got to the hills, the more it descended toward the streambed. They arrived at the edge of an overhang where the stream turned into an imposing waterfall; the roar of the falling water was louder than anything else, and Efren was forced to scream in order to be heard by the others. “We’ll have to go through the Red Rises!” he said, pointing in front. “We’ll find more shelter there!” His words caught Clarice’s attention. “Let the one who’s already seen these places decide that!” she scolded.
