I wake up with the sun sneaking through my curtains. Alex is asleep in the chair next to my bed, he looks so worried even in sleep, and that makes me feel rotten, considering everything else he has to deal with.
I decide to have a hot shower to ease my aching bones, as I'm getting up out if the bed Alex wakes up.
"How are you Anna?"
I give him a small shrug, "why didn't you tell me or warn me Alex?"
Alex has the good grace to look shame faced "I was forbidden by my alpha".
I nod to show I understand, "go back to your wife Alex, I'm fine".
I go to get my shower. I come back into my room and Mrs Jones is there, she's brought me tea and pastries, she's been such a good friend to me and I feel myself welling up, she passes me tissues, sits me down and starts drying my hair for me.
