Chapter 9- Anna

1234 Words
Later that afternoon I decide to freshen up before dinner. Katy was feeling tired and went for a nap and the men was talking pack business in the study.  My room is beautiful, it’s 3 times the size my room at the pack house used to be and there is a double bed, a wardrobe, a dressing table and a door to my own en-suite.  The decor is feminine creams, dusky pink and rose gold and I have feeling that Katy has designed this room with me in mind.  I’m thankful that Katy and Alex’s room is over the other side of the house, there are at least three bedrooms and two bathrooms between us, so I won’t be overhearing any of their marital activities although Katy will probably tell me about it anyway.  I lay on top of the bed, thinking about the past few hours, so much has happened already. Both me and my wolf are too restless to relax, this is what happens when Andrew is near- my wolf will never settle, she wants her mate, but he’s not ours to take.  I decide to have a shower. The shower is large enough for 3 people, the are nobs and dials and buttons and I have no idea what any of it does, it takes a while to get used to the shower.  I did not appreciate the jet of hot water straight to face but the pulsating hot jets to my upper back where so good I groaned in pleasure.  I step out of the shower and wrap myself in a large fluffy white towel but when I go back into the bedroom I see Andrew waiting there.  It flusters me “Alpha Andrew do you want something?”  He looks at me a bit stunned, a long minute passes between us “I told you there’s no need to be formal anymore, I heard you groaning, I thought you might be hurt”. I blush, I hope the whole house did not hear me. “Oh Andrew I’m sorry, I was having a fight with the shower... and the shower won.”  He laughs so I continue on, “this house is amazing Andrew, Katy is so lucky and I know she’d want you to know how much this means to her”. “I’m glad you and Katy like it” he lifts another towel and wraps it gently around my shoulders, it confuses me so I frown a bit at him, he applies a tiny amount of pressure under my chin so I have to raise my head and look him in the eye the warmth and sparks spread throughout my body. My wolf is howling, wanting more. I want more. "I’m taking an educated guess that you are naked under that towel” oh the shame, my face is red, my eyes are wide with sudden realisation “it’s driving my wolf wild so I’m going to go now before...”  "My wolf is restless too... do you think it will always be like this between us Andrew?”  He kisses me on the top of my head “I don’t know Angel, I really don’t know”. My wolf whines when he leaves, I sit on the edge of the bed and try and process everything that is happening.  The attraction and bond between me and Andrew is likely to cause issues, I’m a flustered mess, I can’t remember what I’m supposed to be doing and there is a warm knot in the pit of my stomach that won’t go away.  We agreed last time that we wouldn’t reject each other. but Andrew made it clear that we could not be together. How can that be when it seems like the most natural thing in the world?  I decide to get ready for dinner but half way through I realise that I’m trying to make myself appealing to my mate, what the hell is wrong with me? I settle on a simple black dress that Daphne made me, I dry my hair and apply a little light make up. I decide against the perfume, I don’t want to be too obvious after all.  I am just putting on some shoes when Katy comes knocking for me, like old times.  She seems full of beans again, the rest has done her good. “Anna you look lovely, did Daphne make it?" I nod and she continues “I’m going to ask her to make me some maternity wear, she’s does that right?”  I have no idea “I’ll ask her”. We link arms as we go downstairs, it smells delicious, Mrs Jones knows how to cook!  There are candles lit about the place it looks magnificent, we go into the dining room and Alex and Andrew are there talking. “Ahh here she is my exquisite wife and her very pretty friend”. I nod to them both and we all take our seats. The dining room is older and more formal is design, it is very regal with deep red wallpaper and carpet and dark wood furniture, there is enough seats for a dozen people, the brocade curtains are closed but I can imagine the beautiful view of the garden. The first course is tomato and basil soup with crusty bread, it’s simple yet delicious. We make small talk about work, packs and family, I hear about Mrs McClaren and her illness, I feel so bad for them that I ask if I can visit with Katy the following day and they agree.  Alex asks about Katy when she was younger and so before the main course comes out I give a couple of little stories of me and Katy growing up, Alex and Andrew are both laughing by the time the main course is served.  I tell them about Katy slapping the girls who tried to bully me when I first moved to crescent moon. I told them about the time after Katy’s brothers were born and she told me I had to have one so we had a brother each.  “We used to pretend we was their mothers, Anna would be bouncing Kyle in one pushchair and I would have Kelvin in the other. We used to say we would get married at the same time, live next door to each other and our children would be best friends like us.  I suppose there’s still time for that if you find a mate in the Scarlet moon pack soon, Alex do you have any unmated friends we can set Anna up with?”  The growl was loud, as an Alpha Andrew had the power to bring us all to heel. I know as my fated mate his natural instinct would be to be possessive of me. However, we are trying to be more modern, we are not going to complete the mating ritual and Andrew will marry Jessica.  Andrew looks shocked and visibly blanches when he realises what he just did.
