THE MOON CHILD

Chapter 11- Surprise attack

The journey felt longer than it was, it was 2' o clock in the night and we all had to cross the mountain pass to get to the Abel valley. it was still 8 hours more to get there.

"I feel sleepy ", I announced stretching my arms,

" me too, we should have taken a driver with us, or simply just ran till there, it would have been faster than this.," Sam said sounding sleepy himself

" and what about all the stuff we would have needed, clothes, food, water, etc..."

screeeeeeeccccchhhhhhhhhh.....

Before I could finish my sentence, the car moving in front of us driven by Jasper got off the road into the jungle next to the road and stopped a few meters ahead.

Sam also immediately pressed brakes and stop the jeep, confused as to what just happened we both got out of the jeep and ran towards jaspers car worried if they all were hurt.

Alex and others also halted their car and came down to see if something was wrong.

" What happened ?" sam questioned as soon as we reached near the car.

" Is everything fine," ramona said before anyone else could ask the same thing.

Jasper and everyone else came out of the car and we made sure that no one was hurt.

" Will anyone tell me what happened, how did you get off the road, did you fell asleep?"

" No, I did not doze, I saw someone on the road and my car got out of balance to save that figure",

" what nonsense!!!" ramona exclaimed " there is nothing on the road, u slept off and had a dream and scared us all", she said sounding a bit annoyed.

" Ramona I don't think he is lying, I was sitting right beside him and I saw it too," Cara interrupted.

" ok but then where is it now, I don't see anything", ramona said sounding more annoyed this time.

" ok enough !!", sam said with a very firm tone" the important thing is we are safe now and also in the middle of nowhere so we better leave now,".

" Did anyone hear that ", William said suddenly turning towards the direction of the forest " it is a wolf howling", he said

"I heard that too", jasper said

aaaaaaaaaaaooooooooooooooo

we all heard it loud and clear this time. " ah -oh, werewolves", William said taking a fighting stance

" nope not werewolves, moonwalkers", Adam spoke this time.

" that is not possible, it's no full moon today", jasper said also taking a fighting stance.

" well I know that but look there", Adam said pointing towards the jungle from where around a dozen moonwalkers came running towards us.

" f*****g s**t", ramona screamed

" everyone shift!!", sam shouted making everyone follow his order immediately.

I ran towards the jeep to get my sword when a black figure appeared in front of me

" Do not do this and create trouble for yourself moon child, the lord will not be pleased by the steps u are taking and it might cost you ur friends", he said with distinct confidence.

" Not this time you jerk", sam shouted running towards us and shifted into his alpha form jumping directly on to the dark figure.

before he could or I could do anything sam took a huge chunk of flesh from his neck making that entity fall on the ground but instead of bleeding a black smoke started to come out of the wounded region of the dark figure.

" Sam stop", I shouted before sam could take another bite.

sam turned towards me, growled but then took a step back and converted back into his human form.

he grabbed a short from the back of jaspers car and came and stood beside me

the black smoke was still coming out o the figure and he was slowly turning into dust.

" you are going to be the sacrifice moonchild, you are going to pave the path for the revival of the lord and I am more than blessed to sacrifice my self for the great cause", the dark figure said before completely turning into dust.

all the other members of our team were gathered around now, as soon as sam bit into the dark figure half of the remaining moonwalkers came back to there human forms and ran away and the other half were already dead.

" what the hell was he talking about", Jasper said loudly while approaching me.

" Why did he call you moon child ", ramona said coming near me.

" What is he talking about hope, what the f**k is going on", Cara almost squeezed my hand making me turn towards her.

" and why did not you tell us anything ", it was jaspers turn to get annoyed at me.

before I could say anything sam growled loudly" enough !!! whatever may be the issue you don't get to speak like that to her",

" no it's ok, they are just worried and hurt that I did not tell them anything", I said trying to calm down sam," but the truth is I have no clue to what he was saying or to what moonchild exactly mean, that is exactly what we are trying to figure out, the only thing I know is that the dark figure that day and the dark figure today both of them called me a moonchild and I am somehow connected to the prophecies", I said looking at jasper taking his hand into mind trying to comfort him.

" but they called her a sacrifice," adam said in a very small voice.

" that is not going to happen, not in my watch", sam growled coming close to me and wrapping his arms around me.

"I will always keep you safe", sam said kissing my forehead.

" We are on the right path, he said we should not be doing this that means we are on the right path", jasper said.

" Let us move fast before something like this happens again", adam continued.

We all got back to our vehicles and left for Abel valley this time more careful about the road that we were on. 

 We all reached Abel valley 3 hours delayed to the estimated time around 11 o'clock in the afternoon.we all took decided to book a hotel for us so that ever one could freshen up and eat after which we had to decide what to be done next. 

We booked rooms for everyone in pairs. As Cara and Ramona were sharing rooms I was supposed to take the single room.

" Sam I don't want to be alone ", I said moving close to sam and almost whispering " can I share a room with you".

I knew it was going to be a long night and I didn't want to be alone.

Sam smiled at me and booked the same room for both of us.we all freshened up had our lunch and as per discussion only me, Sam, Jasper, and Adam decided to go to the library and talk to the caretaker first.

we reached the library, it was an old building with a classic style of architecture. it had long round pillars and beautifully carved arches.

we entered the building, it was a huge hall with a lot of books staked around in huge shelves with some shelves being double the height of a human being.

there was an old lady near the end shelf arranging some books on the shelf.

" excuse me", I called out for the lady " we are looking for the caretaker of the library maam, can you please take us to him", I was trying to be very cautious about every word that I used.

" Well you are speaking to her", she said giving us a suspicious look." what gave you an impression that the caretaker is a guy".

" oops", jasper said under his breath making me give him a hard look.

"I am very sorry ma'am, we got the wrong information, we wanted help regarding something and thought that you could help us out with that.

" well, well ..three werewolves and a werewolf hybrid have come to a vampire which makes me believe that the information you need is really important".

my eyes widened at what she said, how did she know I was a hybrid, no one could ever figure that out unless told about me being a hybrid.

" Surprised about how I know it", she said smiling and walked towards us, confusing us all to the core.

she lifted her hand and placed it under my chin and softly pulled it up making me directly look into her eyes " your eyes speak it all",

"amm... I don't know what to say", I was clearly out of words and did not know how to put my queries further.

" well how about we all sit down in my cabin and talk over a nice cup of lemon tea and find out how may I help you",

" You don't have any problem of us being werewolves", I asked surprised by her gesture.

" Honey, why do you think I live alone in this valley, I have no interest abo the power struggles and neither am I interested in the life long rivalry trust me I have lived mostly through all of them and I know that thirst of power never ends on a good note".

" Come on all of you, I think you all need a hot cup of tea and a lot of answers to all your questions".
