THE MOON CHILD

Chapter 9 - After math

We reached his packhouse, It would be wrong to call it a house, It was more of a mansion, It was huge. We stopped in front of the main gate. Sam got out of the driving seat and tossed his keys to the middle-aged guy standing at the door. Sam came around the car, to open my door but he was late as I already got out of the car.

" You are slow," I teased giving him a playful smile.

" I know," he said taking my hands and guiding me inside the mansion.

The main gate was huge and made out of wood. The handles must be either gold or gold plated it was difficult to say and there were four body armor at the entrance lobby, two on each side of the lobby.

 The lobby entered into a huge hall with a lot of seatings, and a fireplace at one corner, I guessed it was the place where a lot of informal gatherings took place.

" First I will show you your room so that you can freshen up and then we will go to father's cabin, he wanted to talk about whatever happened at the place in detail, though Jasper has submitted a detailed report to him, he waited for you to get better to hold the meeting," Sam said guiding me to my room on the first floor.

" My room is down the passage," he said closing the distance between us and holding me by my waist.

" though I and my wolf desperately want you to live in our room, I will take it slow and we will wait till this entire thing is over," he said leaning in to kiss my forehead, but I quickly looked up making his kiss land on my lips. He was a little shocked about what I did.

" you are a very slow man," I said sticking my tongue out of my mouth and giving him an innocent look.

" and I am glad for that," he said sheepishly smiling at me.

Sam left for his room to freshen up himself. I got inside the bathroom to splash some water on my face but that was not enough I guess, I undressed and got inside the shower.

The hot water droplets on my body felt like heaven, I closed my eyes to think about that day.

" Why did he call me moonchild," I thought to my self, applying shampoo in my hair, it was shea butter.

" Am I the one in those prophecies, I know something is missing from it, I need to figure it out," I did not like the idea of not having an answer, I got out of the shower after cleaning my self all up, wrapped in a towel I came out of the room, only to realize that I don't have my clothes here and I did not want to change into my old clothes, I sat down on the bed not knowing what to do when I heard a knock on my door.

" Who is it ?", I called out as opening the door in just a towel seemed inappropriate.

"It's me," I heard sam say, " I have brought you some clothes as I realized that you still have not received your stuff".

I smiled and opened the door for him to enter the room. His eyeball went black looking at me.

" I can see that," I said teasingly, taking the set of clothes he brought for me and went towards the changing room.

" It fits properly," I declared making my way out of the changing room. I was now wearing a black t-shirt with v neck and mega sleeves and camouflage pants. I moved close to Sam, standing in front of him, I snaked my arms around his neck and slowly said into his ear," Sam how did you know my size", I said pointing out the set of inner wear he brought along with the set of t-shirt and the pant.

" Well... Ramona... ummm.. " he trembled not being able to complete the sentence.

" It's ok," I smiled and dragged him out the room holding his wrist," Let's go and meet your father,".

We reached Alpha Amanueal's cabin, everyone else also gathered in his room.

" Take a seat everyone," Alpha said. We all sat down and discussed every detail that happened that day when everyone else gave their inputs I was very hesitant to tell him about what the dark figure said to me about me being the moon child.

" Hope" sam exclaimed bringing me out of my thoughts.

" What happened, do you want to tell us what you are thinking about." Alpha Amaneual said looking at me curiously.

"no, nothing important," I said giving him a soft nod.

" Very well, I guess we all should start looking for the prophecies and what it means", Alpha Amaneual said looking at the report Jasper gave him ." I think we should start with the libraries that we have in our packs," he continued.

" We don't have anything in our pack library regarding this," I said looking at them " I have read every book there, I never came across anything like this," I said placing my finger on my chin trying to remember if I was missing anything.

" Very well, we start with our pack library and then move towards the central library," Sam proclaimed coming near me.

" I will get in contact with Witch Laura to ask if she knows anything about this," alpha Amaneaul said getting up from his chair.

" You all should go and have dinner and get some sleep, you people have a lot of work to do meanwhile I'll update Alpha Mercy about it so that she can try to figure it out on her level," Alpha said moving out of the room.

" This is weirder than I thought," Jasper said.

" Where do we start, " ramona said.

"As Sam said we will start from our library," William said moving towards Ramona extending his hand towards her gesturing her to get up.

" Very well, we start tomorrow," Sam said leading everyone out of the room.

" Hope," I heard Cara call out for me, " Is anything wrong?" she asked me.

" Why do you think so? " I said looking at her curiously, am I that obvious.

" You were particularly very silent in the meeting," she said taking my hands into hers, I could feel her genuine concern towards me," Is it because of Sam?" she continued with her query.

"amm... Yes, it is, I decided to give him a chance he deserves, a chance we both deserve," I lied partially.

I heard Sam clear his throat," You said you would go out with me tonight," I saw his innocent child-like face, he was too good to be real.

" Well, I was waiting for you," I smiled and walked towards him when I heard Cara say," Ummm, I think I'll go and join others for dinner," she left us both alone in the passage.

I turned towards Sam and said." So, where are we going?". He smiled, took my hands, and practically dragged me out of the house towards his Audi saying," Somewhere close to my heart, somewhere I have never taken anyone,".

It was beautiful, I could see the water as far as my eyes could go, the stars were shining in the sky, there were more stars in the sky than usual, maybe because this place was far away from the city. There were a lot of trees around and I could smell the flowers also.

I moved close to the cliff, trying to take in everything I could," Amazing " was the only word I could get out of me at that time. I felt two strong arms snake around my waist from behind, and It felt like I was in heaven.

" I found this place soon after my mother's death, when I was taking rounds around the pack land, I come here since then whenever I want some alone time to clear my head," he said tightening his grip around me.

" Sam, do you remember the diary that you threw in the water, it belonged to my dad, it reminded me of him after he left," I shivered remembering my dad but continued to talk," I was very angry with you when you threw away that diary,". He held me by my shoulder and turned me around so that I was facing him, he placed a finger below my chin to make me look at him.

" I never wanted to hurt you, Hope, you were sitting there alone looking at the diary and I could see that you were about to cry, I just wanted to distract you from whatever you were reading," he sighed," and that fall was not intentional, I am so sorry for that," he was looking at me with that innocent face. I just smiled, saying nothing I cupped his face between my hands and moved forward to place my lips on his. " you are just getting under my confidence now you know," I said between the soft kisses that we shared.

He brought a mat, and a basket and laid it near the edge of the cliff.

" I got us some sandwiches, orange juice, chocolates," he was looking through the basket when I sat down near him.

" let's just lie down and look at the stars for some time," I said laying down on the mat.

He laid near me with one of his hands under his head and other entangled with mine.

" You make me crazy hope, You have no idea how I control myself and my wolf, you feel so delicate when I touch you, that I fear I might break you," he said looking at the sky.

" Sam, I have to tell to something," I tightened my grip around his fingers. He turned to face me with a confused look on his face.

" The figure that day, that was standing behind me, he said something to me," I said and paused.

Sam got up and sat facing me and questioned," What is it, Hope".

" He said I was the light bearer, he called me a moon child Sam, I am the one in those prophecies," I said sitting up facing his direction with my eyes still on the ground.

He did not reply for a minute and then said," why didn't you tell me?".

" I did not know what to say, people fear what they don't understand, and I was scared for myself, I wanted to figure it out myself, but now I feel that I cannot keep anything from you," I said still not looking into his eyes.

" I told you, we will figure this out together, and if you don't want, we will not tell this to anyone, not until we have figured it out ourselves," Sam said squeezing my hands.

I could feel he was saying the truth. I bent forward and kissed him slow and steady, he released a slow growl and moved his hands over my waist and held it, he pulled me close to him continuing to kiss me, but this time his kisses were rough and dominating. " Sam," I moaned when I felt his hands move up my waist on my bare skin making its way under my top. He placed his right hand on my left breast and pressed it a bit, his left hand still on my back, placed on the hooks of my bra. I pulled him close, his body weight made me fall on the mat with my back on the ground and him laying on me. His hands started to move on my body exploring every corner. He dropped his head trailing kisses from my chin to my neck to my collar bone. My hands ran on his back forcing him to close the distance between us. He smelt heavenly.

" Hope" he took my name within those heavenly kisses. His hands moved down to my waist pulling me into his manhood.

" My wolf wants to mark you so bad, I only know how I have controlled him till now," he said panting in between the kisses he placed on my neck and shoulder. I felt so hot, the heat was increasing between us.

" Sam, is it just me or things are really getting hot," I said and I heard Sam chuckle, but then I felt a sharp pain shoot out of my stomach.

" Sam," I shouted, pushing him away from me and curling myself in a fetus position facing the ground, " It hurts," I grunted, everything felt so hot, my body temperature was rising rapidly, I was sweating like a pig.

" Hope," Sam shouted my name," I think you are shifting," he exclaimed taking my hands into his palms," breathe slowly," he said.

" Sam!!!!," I shouted again, the pain was increasing, I have seen people shift but I don't think I have seen anyone go through this much pain before, or were they stronger than I am, maybe it's because I am shifting so late, I tried to convince my self.

" Hope!!! breathe," Sam shouted in my ear, it was frustrating, his voice was piercing through my body. I felt like a lot of energy was coming out of my body in the form of white light, the energy was so strong that it forced me to change my position, facing up in the sky, I was still on my knees on the ground with the white light coming out of my body from every direction.

 Everything turned hazy, I was above the ground floating in the air, I could see Sam barely managing to stand, it was getting cloudy, I could hear lightning and thunder, I closed my eyes and felt a final release of energy from my body and then everything went numb, the time felt slow, the pain was gone, the thunder was gone, I could feel winds blowing across my face, my body felt relaxed, never in my life, I had ever felt this calm, "Hope," I heard Sam say with a hint of confusion in his voice.

I opened my eyes, I was still floating above the ground, Sam was looking at me bewildered. before I could realize anything I fell on the ground. Sam came running towards me.

"I did not shift, " I said.

"I don't get it, what is happening to me, and why me?", I looked at Sam almost on the verge of crying.

" don't worry Hope, we will figure it out, "he said softly pulling me up in his arms," soon" he added walking towards the Audi, carrying me in his Arms.

I felt myself drift away in his arms.
