EPISOD 2

THE MAN WHO KNEW MY NAME The rain continued to pour. Isabella stood frozen beside the black luxury car. Her heart pounded violently against her chest. “How do you know my name?” she demanded. The man inside the vehicle didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he studied her with calm, unreadable eyes. The kind of eyes that seemed capable of seeing straight through people. “Get in,” he repeated. “I don’t even know who you are.” A slight smile touched his lips. “Alexander King.” The name hit her instantly. Everyone knew Alexander King. The billionaire CEO of King Enterprises. One of the youngest and wealthiest businessmen in the country. A man whose face constantly appeared on magazine covers and business news. Powerful. Untouchable. Feared. And somehow he knew her name. “What do you want from me?” she asked cautiously. Alexander glanced at the rain. “You’re soaking wet.” “Answer my question.” A strange expression crossed his face. “You should stop standing in the rain before you get sick.” The concern in his voice surprised her. It sounded genuine. But why would a billionaire care? Before she could respond, a loud rumble of thunder shook the sky. Isabella shivered. Alexander noticed immediately. Without another word, he removed his expensive suit jacket and handed it to her. She stared at it. Then at him. “Why are you helping me?” For the first time, something flickered behind his eyes. Something that looked almost like guilt. “Because I owe your family more than you know.” Her breath caught. “What does that mean?” Alexander looked away. “Get in the car.” His tone left no room for argument. After a moment’s hesitation, Isabella climbed inside. The luxurious interior smelled of leather and expensive cologne. The door closed behind her. Immediately shutting out the storm. Alexander sat opposite her. His presence filled the entire vehicle. The car pulled away from the curb. Neither of them spoke for several minutes. Finally Isabella broke the silence. “You still haven’t explained how you know me.” Alexander stared through the window. “I knew your father.” The words hit her like lightning. “My father?” Alexander nodded. The mention of her father instantly reopened old wounds. Three years had passed since his death. Three years since the mysterious car accident that had destroyed her family. Three years of struggling to survive. “What do you know about him?” she asked quietly. Alexander’s jaw tightened. “A lot.” The answer only created more questions. Before she could ask another one, the car stopped. She looked outside. Her eyes widened. A massive skyscraper towered before them. The shining words at the top read: KING ENTERPRISES. “What are we doing here?” Alexander exited the vehicle. “Come with me.” Confused and exhausted, Isabella followed. Employees immediately began bowing their heads as Alexander walked past. Nobody dared look directly at him. The atmosphere changed the moment he entered. It was obvious who controlled everything here. Inside the private elevator, Isabella finally spoke again. “You still haven’t told me why I’m here.” Alexander pressed the button for the top floor. Then he turned toward her. “Because you need a job.” Her eyes widened. “What?” “I reviewed your background.” “You investigated me?” “I prefer to be prepared.” Isabella folded her arms. “And what makes you think I need your help?” Alexander’s gaze softened. “Your apartment rent is overdue.” Her face paled. He continued. “Your mother’s medical bills haven’t been paid.” Silence. “Your savings account contains less than enough money to survive another month.” Tears immediately filled her eyes. Everything he said was true. Every painful detail. Every secret struggle. Yet hearing it spoken… To be continued… This sets up a bigger mystery: Why does Alexander feel guilty? What happened between the King family and Isabella’s father? And what does the grandfather mean by “you’ve finally found her”?
