Chapter 17

Mason

Em had called saying she was tired and so left Lukas alone in the room. I felt uncomfortable about it for some reason and so I left the party after a few minutes. I walked to our room and saw the room service cart outside our room but there was no one there and the door was closed, good thing I had a spare key which I used to enter and what I saw made my blood boil, all I could see was red. "Get your f*****g hands off my man" I yelled while lunging at him, how could he touch my Lukas. I twisted his hand in one swift movement causing a cracking sound of his bones. I knew my friends were on their way to our room and so I quickly threw a blanket on Lukas to cover his exposed body while I held Zico by his neck against the wall. 

"Lukas is MINE and only MINE" Zico said laughing like a madman. My grip tightened on his neck and I saw him grow breathless and he was squirming in my grip but I just wanted him dead. He had caused enough of pain and torcher to Lukas and if I would let him live things could get worst. Suddenly I heard Lukas calling me and a few hands pulling me back. "Let go son, I promise he will pay for his crime... let go now" the Sheriff said and he slowly pulled my hand from Zico's neck. I was still so angry that I kicked him a few times before punching him in his face and breaking his nose. The Sheriff and the boys dragged him out of our room and I fell on the ground feeling hopeless that I was not there to protect Lukas again. 

"Babe, listen to me" Lukas said sitting up on the bed, "It's not your fault" ... "I'm sorry Lukas, if I was here this would not have happened to you again" I said crying while rolling myself in a ball. "Come here, please... please Mason I need you" Lukas begged and I quickly rushed by his side. He was everything to me, he was the reason my heart would beat every single day. "I Love You Mason" he said snuggling in my chest. "I Love You Too Lukas, I Love You a lot" I said pulling him closer to me. "He's not going to hurt you anymore... it's all over" I said and I heard Lukas crying against my chest. I knew he needed to let out all the emotions he had bottled inside him, so I tightened my grip on him and let him cry till his breathing relaxed and he fell asleep in my arms. 

The next morning everything went as planned and yes we finally tied the knot. I carried Lukas in my arms back to our room and what started as light teasing and kissing ended up in a passionate and extremely hot make out session. 

Life only got better after that, yes we did disagree at times but then we would make up the very next minute. We put all our bad memories behind us. I got promoted to the head of the fire department while Lukas was now handling the clinic and the hospital by himself as the good old doc had retired and was now travelling the world with his family. 

5 YEARS LATER...

It's been 5 years since we got married and Lukas and I decided to adopt a child and complete our family. We were head over heals in love with each other and wanted nothing more than to start a family. We adopted a baby girl who was 3 years and she became a part of our life, our family was complete. Parenting was not easy at the start but thanks to Emma and Jay we learnt how to manage everything. I still think how miserable my life would have been if I had not given Lukas and me a chance, if I had continued to act like an asshole to him. I am really thankful that Lukas came into my life, I not only entered a relationship, I dated, fell in love like madly in love and even married the man whom I loved more than myself.
