Emotions remained an impossible belief for Adrian Sinclair throughout his life. These were his weak points which could be turned into opportunities for attack. His domain operated under the principle that power emerged through taking it and controlling it in perfect precision. The extensive growth of Sinclair Enterprises into a dominant European business empire led him to establish his position as a major industrial force. His thirty-two years brought him control over a billion-dollar empire. Because of this, he wasted no time eliminating anyone who tried to block his path. Sitting in Sinclair Enterprises' high-rise office Adrian took pleasure from the movie nt city skyline that stretched through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The streets of London created a bustling scene down below while his office maintained complete quietness. Victor Langston stood by the desk to receive instructions from his boss. Adrian spoke with a cold tone as he examined his desk surface while tapping his fingers. “Did they sign?” Victor adjusted his tie. “Not yet. The potential clients show reluctance toward signing because of the exclusive agreement terms. Adrian’s jaw tightened. Weakness becomes evident when a person hesitates. Schedule a meeting. We will destroy their business whenever they refuse to accept our proposed terms. Victor showed no reaction to his boss's harsh attitude when he gave his order. Experience working under Adrian allowed him to understand that the businessman would not accept any type of compromise from his employees. “Understood, sir.” As Victor rose to depart from the office an unexpected entry blasted through the doors. His face revealed no reaction as Daniel Sinclair entered the room without asking for permission. Adrian maintained his perfect composure, but Daniel had an arrogant attitude with his smug expression and relaxed physical stance, which revealed his life had been free from hardship. Daniel entered the office without hesitation to take a seat in one of the chairs before anyone could grant permission. “I heard the news. You’re getting married.” Adrian kept his focus on his laptop screen. “And?” Daniel released a laugh without any humour. “And? Silent all you have to say? Our dear parents surely celebrate this news. You have finally decided to follow their instructions. Adrian’s fingers clenched around the pen he held. Bending? Hardly. The arranged marriage served his tactical purposes. The family needed his silence to maintain his business dominance and his privacy remained crucial to him. Adrian spoke with a calm voice that conveyed his disinterest in the situation. Daniel leaned back, amamused“So, who’s the lucky woman?” Adrian’s expression remained unreadable. “That’s none of your inpatient Daniel’s smirk widened. “Oh, but it is. This means that this arrangement lacks any true love element. It’s about control. Your actions always have a motive behind them because you are not one to move without purpose. Adrian clenched his jaw. Daniel was right. Love served as a deceptive instrument which people employed to guide their interactions with others. His lesson in life about illusions came after experiencing betrayal. With the sound of a soft keyboard click he shut his laptop before walking to the window. London spread out indefinitely beneath his window showing its dazzling display of power and prosperity. A cold, unfeeling city. Just like him. A Glimpse Into Power Adrian walked into the conference room of Sinclair Enterprises, outmanoeuvringternoon's session, and straight away gained the full attention of everyone present. Several executives, including both male and female, grew their careers under his leadership, occupying the space. He started the meeting by speaking in a short tone. The existing presentation was underway when he entered, but the projections, reports,s, and figures lacked significance without actual outcomes. The executive report received no interest from Adrian until a junior presenter paused during the discussion of future merger numbers. Adrian’s gaze snapped to him. You are saying that there are no finalized reports available. The young man swallowed hard. The final projections have not arrived yet, according to our team leader, sir. He expects to receive them within the upcoming week. Adrian’s stare was ice-cold. “Next week is unacceptable. You do not belong at this company if you require me to wait for your work performance. The room became entirely silent with tension. The executive made a shaky promise to deliver the documents before morning dawned. “See that you do.” Adrian returned his attention to the table in front of him. “I don’t entertain incompetence. Every employee who joins my team must follow my speed of operation. The door stands available as an option if you believe my requirements exceed your capabilities. No one moved. No one dared to. Adr, Ian Sinclair presented himself as a man who demanded perfect results and displayed both efficiency and ruthlessness while being completely patient. The Price of Power As Adrian entered his office the phone started ringing immediately after his company meeting concluded. His eyes shifted to the phone screen while he let out a deep breath. Grey mother. The awareness that she would call again and again made him decide to answer the phone. He responded with a terse voice saying, “Mother.” His mouth demeanour or Sinclair, answered in her refined manner when she spoke through the phone. “I heard about your engagement. You have finally shown good judgment. A deep breath escaped his lungs while he held the phone with greater intensity. “It’s done. That’s all you need to know.” Eleanor delivered her response, with complete composure when she spoke. “Who is she? Where is she from? Is she… suitable?” Adrian’s jaw tightened. “She’s my fiancée. That makes her suitable.” There was a pause. Then, a soft, amused chuckle. Your plan to hide behind a grey-ring marriage does not deceive anyone around you. Pla se, Adrian. Your family members possess an uncanny ability to avoid your attempts at outmanoeuvring them. The pressure in his hand increased as he held the phone. Watch me. Eleanor informed them she would wait for their presence during dinner this weekend. Your fat Merely's to greet your fiancée. Adrian’s patience was razor-thin. Family games do not fit me. Spelt spoke with a cold tone as she said "You will find time." Your bride will face considerable challenges if you decide not to show up for dinner. An implied danger remained present. Adrian's eyes flared. He hated how they had their hands on everything. But fighting the Sinclairs was never a smart move, Merely." He gave in. "But don't meddle." Her soft laugh was laced with amusement and understanding spelt, baby. I am your meddling." The call ended. He tossed his phone across the desk and exhaled heavily. They thought they could better him? They were wrong. This was his wedding. His affair. His control, what he wanted, who he wanted. Elena Carter? She meant nothing. She was nothing but a pawn in the game he intended to play and win. Yet staring out that window, his skyline in front of him, something ugly twisted in the pit of Adrian Sinclair's stomach. An unfamiliar sensation he didn't want to explore. Because for the first time in a long while, he had the unsure feeling that maybe, just maybe, he was playing with fire.
