CHAPTER 6: WEDDING THIRST.

1648 Words
Something flickered on and off, like those faulty lights in a dark basement trying to give a spark of energy but failing every time. Something throbbed and ached, and I didn’t know which part of my body it was. I could hear faint noises around me, but they were too mumbling in my head to be clear. “Is she going to be alright?” I heard through the overlap of voices in my head. It echoed amongst others, and I felt like I was getting closer to the light. I went blank . My mind went into space I could almost touch. My eyes flew open in panic. I jolted upright, as if I suddenly remembered it was my funeral and I had forgotten to tell my close friends. I pushed my back up quickly, ignoring the pain in my lower body. Immediately, I met a pair of familiar eyes bulging at mine, trying to calm me with a concerned look. He grabbed the call remote and used it while I remained confused about where I was. “Hey, hey, hey, calm down. It’ll be alright, okay. Don’t worry. Take it easy, okay.” He reiterated his assurance over and over and I recognized him but couldn’t place who exactly he was. He looked worried, scared, guilt-ridden, and livid at the same time. His feelings mixed into his face like salt and hot water. His eyes held fierce emotions and he looked like I should have been the one comforting him instead. People in white flew in, and then and there, I realized this was a hospital, and the man sitting beside me was CRISTIAN MARVIS SRIS. Everything started to come back to me. The date, the secret group, the Lambo, the apartment, I gasped hastly remembering I was shot at. “ MARIA!!!!” I let out in confused panic. I threw myself to hold onto anything I could find in every direction. I was given a nose mask to calm me back down. I breathed in, and in and in, steadily trying to catch my breath. I took off the mask, “Where did she shoot me?”I gasped in tears, “Why am I alive?” I asked again. The doctor came in and gestured for me to be administered again. I went drowsy for a while, then blanked out. I found myself on a large bed when I finally opened my eyes. It was the kind of bed made for the instant relaxation of your body and relief of whatever you’d been carrying. It felt like a cozy, feathered nest, filling me with warmth. I gently lifted my head to take in the room, noticing the spacious white walls that seemed to stretch out around me, creating a peaceful and open atmosphere. I saw very beautiful room decor and wondered what room this was. “What is this again?” I asked in unsurprised displeasure in negation to what I felt before. I saw someone roll to me to the other side, where I was. It was Marvin, with his ever-pleasing beauty. “Are you awake now?” He asked me. “The doctor told me to take care of you . It seems like heavy trauma. Are you clear-headed now?” He asked again. He went over to the room to a grand, beautiful table, came before me, and dropped papers in front of me. “Sign them.” He mustered emotionlessly. I thought they were going to be letters of confidentiality on every thing i saw, but it was a marriage contract. I looked at him confused, I held the papers in my hand, needing questions. “I’m not asking.” “Uhn?” “I’m not asking.” He replied coldly again. “You will.” I thought in my heart; “Yes, I would want to. But this isn’t how exactly a girl wants to get married.” “Why this?” I asked correctionally. He replied.” Was it my fault, was it my fault you got shot at?” “No, not complet―” “It was my fault. It was my fault, and you know it. So you’re going to sign those freaking papers.” He pushed them towards me. “Marvin, don’t do this. I’m not your child; you can’t take responsibility for me all the time.” “Shut up, sign the papers, and damn kiss me.” “I want to protect you. I want to. This is the best way, please.” “What about? ―” “Everyone?” He chucked a laugh. “I don’t care about that.” I didn’t know what lay ahead of me, but I wasn’t interested in looking. I signed the papers and dropped them in his hands. I searched my body for where I was shot, but I couldn’t find any opening. The bullet had merely grazed my side. He started to take off his clothes and looked at me like he was looking for consent in my eyes. I didn’t know what I was thinking. My side of my tummy hurt, and I hadn’t fully been awake for an hour. I went over to him to take his clothes off, too. He didn’t say anything. He grabbed my neck softly and planted kisses on it. I took of his shirt, threw it on the bed, and went for his belt next. I let out moans very softly as he kissed my neck downwards to my breasts. The feeling was electric. He arched over me to assist me in taking his Pants off. The rest was history. It’d been a long time since I’d called my mom. I didn’t know how to break down the news of everything that had happened to me. I wanted to travel, but I was too weak. Especially after the s*x, he was so gentle with me, though. I called her. I held the phone till it got cold in my hands. The first words were like fire, and I was scared of how she would take all this news. That I was employed, shot at, married, and rich now. I wondered what game life was playing at me. “Hello?” she picked up, ecstatic to hear my voice. “Rachelllll my daughter,” she said in her almost Spanish accent. “I’ve missed you.. terribly.” “Hi mom. I’ve missed you too.” “Ahh, mi amor.” She said my love in Spanish.” How is the city going? I didn’t want to call you, so you wouldn’t be pressured. I’m so glad you did.” “Mom, I have…have a lott to tell you. I don’t know how to break this news to you, but I’ll say it either way.” I announced straight away to her. “Yes,yes mi bebe.” She replied unsuspecting of the chaos. “I’m married, mom.” ----------------- The line went off for a while. I thought it did, but she was silent. She didn’t say anything to me. “Is this a joke?” She asked. I was silent. “Oh my…. I hope this isn’t a terrible mistake.”She shouted at me. “Were you drunk? Tell me, tell me. You know you can tell me anything.” “Mom, trust me I was fine. Yes, I can come see you, but I can’t come now. I’m very stressed out. I could fly you over in the jet.” “Je..je..jee.jet. Rachel, what are you talking about? Are ..are..you..are you okayyy?! Have you gone insaaaaane?” “Mom, mom. You’re panicking. Just come see me.” “Rachel, when I get there, you'd better explain all this nonsense to me. Talking about a whole lot of―” I cut the call. She was wild with me. It felt like she could become a jaguar and take care of my meaty pieces. Momzilla. “My wife… where’s my wife?” My other problem seemed to call out for me from another room. He just woke up. I was still in the house. I didn’t know when I would leave. “Hey, hey, I’m here. Do you need anything?” I replied him. He walked into the room to meet me on the side of the bed with a phone in my hand. “is everything- Shut up, my love. He replied darkly, “Get over to daddy” “What…again? “ I wailed. “Baby I have a very high libido.” He said, in his tough masculinity, still. “Well,… maybe, are you seeming to forget I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE HOSPITAL?” I shouted at him. “I’m not always so rough. You don’t have to do anything. Just put it in your mouth.” This was a churning moment for me. My body wasn’t in a bad condition, but my head fog and the trauma were still lingering. My body wanted him still. I could remember the touch of his hands, sharp on my body like glass. Breaking was the word. “Wait. We’re going to do one thing my way.” “Anything.” He replied erotically. Put out the lights. I’ll trace you, no worries. I’m used to the length. I winked. I’ll trace YOU. He gave a sassy, impatient reply. Lightss off***** I arranged for my mom to come over to meet me at my place. Everything had changed again. The home I stayed in, the lifestyle, position I found myself in. I had to meet her outside Sris’ home. I didn’t want this to be too much for her. “Rachel Perez Diamond.” She beckoned my name like I was an escape prisoner. “You are going to explain all this to me, dang it.” “Mom, calm down. It’s alright, I promise.”
