FOUR HOURS LATER - PODGORICA BUS STATION
I stepped off the bus into the chaos of Montenegro's capital city, exhausted and terrified and utterly lost.
Podgorica is bigger than Kotor, it has more people, more cars, and most importantly more places to hide. But it also has more places for hunters to find you. More cameras and more risks.
I need a plan. I need to figure out where to go from here.
Serbia is close. I can cross the border, and get lost in Belgrade. Or Croatia...Split is supposed to be beautiful this time of year. Plenty of tourists. And very easy to disappear.
But crossing borders meant checkpoints, showing documents that might not hold up to scrutiny and also risks I wasn't sure I could afford.
