They left me. No one protected me. No one saved me when I needed them. All I feel is pain and hatred, I should be swallowed by this darkness. They looked for you constantly for these past 4 years. They couldn’t find you so they sent me instead. They wanted to find you and to protect you, Rayven they love you. I will protect you now. I look towards him, this man who came to rescue me, Silas. The man who slaughtered Innocent people, is here to be my knight in shining armor? He grimaced at my words. I did not ask for this. I could have stayed in my cell, I know what I took part in was wrong and horrific. I turned my body to face his direction. Then why would you protect me? Why would either of us want you to protect me? He clenched his fist together and looked down at his feet before unclenching his hands.
Back then I had lost the only thing I was instructed to protect with my life. I had failed, along with the others, to guide my Goddess back from the spirit world properly. She got lost along the way, and now I have you. After so long of thinking lowly of myself, your parents gifted me with another chance to be a guardian. I want to protect you Rayven. You have value to me. I looked for any signs of lies and couldn’t find anything that would put me off. I truly didn’t want to be here anyway. I miss my parents and I miss everyone else. But, I’m not certain I can trust this man yet.
My parents have been here since they got word I woke up, non-stop worrying and chatter. I just want to rest, but I know how they probably feel or what they must think of me now. “When can I leave the infirmary?” I ask my parents. “You have to get better first, then you will be free to leave.” My father’s voice sounds a little strained, not the same as when I was a little girl. Just then a male doctor came in and walked toward me while reaching to touch me. “Please don’t touch me.” I pull away and he looks at me a bit confused. “Ms. Hale, I’ve been your doctor the entire time. I won’t harm you.” He goes to reach for me again and his arm is caught just as I pulled away again. “Find a female doctor.” Silas stood much larger than my doctor, but he understood my distress and is forcing it to be resolved. “None of the other doctors know about Rayven’s health the same way I do.” He replied. Silas stared at the doctor, no emotion flickering in his face or eyes. “Give them her medical report. She’ll be here for a bit longer anyway.” Silas finally let his arm go and blocked me from the doctor. He turned to look at my parents who said nothing before turning and leaving my room.
