27~ LITTLE MISTRESS

We proceeded with breakfast. I’m amazed by how they prepared well for a celebration. The dining table seemed like there’s no space to eat at. It’s practically filled with sorts of food. They had their conversations that I don’t really care.

I focused on my food. My mind just circulated with everything that happened last night. No matter how many times I try to get it rid of my mind, it kept on lingering. I quietly ate my food while they were full of laughter and chitchats.

It is still a mystery to me why I am acting like this. I should be happy! I should celebrate with them but why am I sulking out of nowhere? Maybe, it drained me. The power I used with the first writing on the sacred paper may have drained me. but deep inside, something is telling me something else that I’m scared to recognize.

“You didn’t tell me it’s your birthday, Nav. I should have brought you a gift,” Forest said as he looked at me with this different emotion in front of me.

I don’t know this Forest. This Forest is new to me.

“You don’t have to.”

I got back to my food. I felt him nod slowly at my answer. I never minded them after that. I quickly finished my food and excused myself. I went straight to my room and took a bath. A warm bath made me more awake with my current situation. This is something I shouldn’t be sulking. I shouldn’t think too much and just move on quickly to the next step.

I forgot for a moment that I need to get out of this world as quickly as possible and what Forest is making me feel is making it slow. The process has been slow but I’ll make sure next time, I will make it fast.

I have been here for almost two months already. I should at least take my time here for six months and I’ll be leaving. I don’t have to b too affected by almost everything. I sighed as I went out of my bathroom. If my first writing changes him so much that he almost couldn’t act the same way he used to at me, that means it’s working.

Everything Is doing fine.

In the next writings, I can finally stop all the assumptions I did for the past few weeks. I’ll be free and even Forest. I nodded to myself. I went out of the room and went back to them. After all, it’s my birthday. I smirked.

They were on the patio, having a good conversation. Mark noticed me coming outside.

“The birthday girl is here!”

I shook my head as they cheered so loud. I got surprised as Mark welcomed me with a tight hug. They laughed at my reaction.

“The heck, Markus,” his scent was awful.

Did he drink? I looked at his hands and he’s been holding a bottle of liquor. I immediately took it away from him when I felt his hug loosen. I gave the bottle to Sham. I looked at his wasted face. I shook my head and laughed.

“Christiana made him drink,” Jedi immediately pointed fingers when I faced her.

Christiana giggled. She’s looking drunk too. What did these people do in the broad daylight? It’s still morning!

I was going to speak about this when Mark went back to his consciousness.

“Did you know that this birthday girl is the most beautiful woman in my eyes?”

He started to blabber nonsense.

He cupped my face that shocked me. He pouted as eyed me.

“Nobody hurts my Eloise,” I rolled my eyes as he mentioned my first name.

They laughed as I rolled my eyes. But then the moment my eyes stop to roll, it got in contact with Forest brooding eyes. I couldn’t see the warm smile he usually gives me. He looks serious with Zafeya just beside him who is actually smiling and laughing with us.

Forest just looked like rain just poured on him. I looked away casually.

“I will never imagine a life without you.”

I smiled. Mark never says these words to me but I feel it at times. Now that he’s saying it is another level of happiness. When I was about to let go of the hug, he quickly realized it and came hugging me tight again. I smirked at how wasted he looked.

“How many bottles did you let him drink, Christiana?”

They laughed which made my brow furrow.

“One,” Michelle answered.

Okay, I get it. I noticed how they enjoyed the scene with Mark and me that even the blank face of Forest wasn’t something I couldn’t avoid. I looked away again. I tapped Marks’ back as he groaned when I tried to let go of the hug.

“I think you need to get in your room, Mark.”

He groaned more. What a child. I can’t wait for him to wake up and I’ll get to tease him about this.

“Don’t leave me.”

I sighed. I nodded and I think he felt it that he voluntarily let go of the hug first. I smiled at him as he sheepishly smiled at me. Now, look who’s a kid.

“I won’t. Don’t worry.”

I had to bring Mark to his room. Sham figured out to help but I just got surprised when Forest came in between me and Mark. He easily hugged Mark and carried him. I took a step back when he started to walk away. When I looked at everyone’s expressions, they all look fine and I’m the only one here reacting like this.

I blinked a couple of times before realizing that I have been more attentive with Forest and with every move he makes, I make an unnecessary reaction. I glanced at Zafeya and she seemed to be fine too. I must be crazy. I massaged my head quietly.

We continued our conversation and I was comfortable with the chitchats. I’m even surprised by how we go well with Zafeya. She really is pure but in the back of my mind, I want to curse her. That’s true and I don’t even know why. I just don’t want to lie about that.

All was fine with my composure not until Forest came back. I even felt uncomfortable when he sat finely with Zafeya. My eyes immediately spotted how Zafeya traveled her hand on his arms through his palms and intertwined it.

I swallowed hard. Before looking away, my eyes couldn’t avoid Forest. He looked at me attentively and I just raised my brow and looked away.

Just chill, Nav.

I sighed heavily as Jedi continued to pour wine on my glass. She winked at me. I immediately knew what she’s planning.

“After watching how stupid Mark was earlier, I’d like to see you stupid as well,” she chuckled lightly.

My brow raised at what she said. I thought I’m the only angel who would use the word stupid. I never knew that Jedi would use them too. interesting.

“You already saw me back in the dining room.”

“You were sober that time already. I wanna see you drunk and wasted.”

I shook my head.

“I object with that,” I finished the glass of wine and put it back to the center table as I tried to stand up.

I felt the dizziness when I suddenly stood up. I thought it was Jedi who held my arm to prevent me from falling but when I looked at the hand holding me, it was Forest. I casually recovered as I massaged my head.

I took a step back so he would let go of my hand. I swallowed hard when I felt tipsy. This is not good. I looked at him. The last time I remember, he was seven feet away from me. How did he just get close without me noticing? I avoided my eyes and it landed on Zafeya who has been having a good conversation with Christiana.

I don’t if I should be relieved that she didn’t see Forest come to me that fast or just be worried about this situation. But the alcohol already hit me so I couldn’t think well.

My eyes looked for Christiana so I can excuse myself.

“I’m… I’ll be in my room,” I didn’t have to wait for her response and just walked away.

My eyes were already half-closed when I arrived at my room. it’s not even dark yet but I am already like this. Just amazing. I turned my neck in a different direction as I sat on my bed. I lay on my bed when I noticed a buzz just on my back.

My brows furrowed as I lazily took it. A new message. My phone just buzzed. I unconsciously smile at myself. I’m feeling lightheaded. I shook my head and opened the message.

It’s from Forest.

Forest:

Did you arrive in your room?

Me:

Why ask?

Forest:

You seemed tipsy…

I pouted at his reply. Has he been eyeing me? What a sicko.

Me:

So?

Forest:

I want to check up on you.

I smiled out of the blue but then just slapped myself when I realized what I did.

Me:

Why? Are you making me your little mistress?

A minute passed and he still hasn’t a reply. Although, he already received and seen the massage. I smirked. That’s right. Just shut up, Forest!
