Chapter 11

SELINA'S POV

Even though I ran fast, my speed was nothing compared to theirs because they had wolves. I headed straight to my training ground. I quickly grabbed the daggers I had hidden beside the large trees. The moment I saw Jake, I immediately threw one of the daggers at him.

"Ahh!" I heard him cry out as it struck his leg. I hid inside the tall grass where I had concealed my bow and arrows. I immediately slung the arrows onto my back and then ran quickly.

"Selina! You can't run from me!" I heard Adrian's voice. I pulled out an arrow, and the moment I saw him, I released it.

"f**k you, Selina! Don't you dare get caught because I'll really kill you!" he shouted. I had no intention of killing them, all I wanted was to get out of here alive.

I was knocked to the ground when Jake's wolf attacked me. His claws tore through my arm, and I saw the confusion in his eyes as the wounds healed almost instantly.

He growled and attacked me again. I quickly grabbed another arrow and aimed it at him. His growls grew even louder after taking another hit. I couldn't retrieve the arrows I had dropped because I had to run again. I didn't know how much longer I could keep running just to escape them.

"Where do you think you're going?" Adrian asked as he blocked my path. I slowly stepped back and was about to run the other way when I saw Jake already standing behind me. I swallowed hard.

"You're strong and fast, Selina. I never expected that from someone who doesn't even have a wolf. Who are you really, and what kind of creature are you? Are you a Lycan? The creature every wolf despises." he said with emphasis. The five of them had already surrounded me. They had blood stains on them from the daggers and arrows I had thrown earlier.

"You know this place, don't you? You know exactly where you've hidden all your weapons." Adrian added. I tightened my grip around my bow. I had no idea how I was supposed to escape them now.

I grabbed three arrows and positioned them on my bow. Adrian smirked as if mocking my skills with a bow and arrow. I raised my bow and aimed the three arrows at the three of them standing in front of me.

"Kill her!" Adrian ordered. I released the arrows at once, and they struck all three of them. I immediately took advantage of the opening and ran.

"Go after her! Don't kill her because I'm the one who's going to kill her!" Adrian roared. I could still hear him groan as he yanked the arrow out of his arm.

"f**k!" I cursed when a dagger pierced my back. I felt the burning pain immediately, and I was certain it had been coated with wolfsbane again.

Before the wolfsbane could spread through my system, I forced myself to run even faster and quickly hid inside a cave that only I knew about. I immediately covered the entrance with thick bushes so they wouldn't find it.

I dropped to the ground and endured the burning sensation spreading through my body. They really wanted to kill me because they had prepared so much wolfsbane just for me.

Is this really where I'm going to die? How much wolfsbane did they coat that dagger with?

"Find her, now! Don't let that woman escape!" I heard Adrian's voice. I could hear the pounding of their footsteps and the crunching of dry leaves beneath their feet.

My vision was already growing darker. If only a small amount of wolfsbane had entered my body, I could still survive it, but if it was too much, it would kill me.

I fought to keep myself from being swallowed by the darkness. When I could no longer hear them, I finally stepped out of the cave, not knowing where to go. I just kept walking. I didn't even know where I was anymore, or if I was still inside Shadowfang territory.

When I heard footsteps, I immediately hid behind a large tree. Then I heard horses. Who were they?

The wolfsbane had completely spread through my system, and if the poison continued circulating through my body, I would never wake up again. I wanted to run, I wanted to get away, but before I could even take another step, I collapsed onto the ground.

I no longer knew what was happening around me, or whether Adrian had already found me.

I looked around. I was definitely no longer inside the forest because all I could see was endless white and countless colorful flowers. Where was I? Was I dreaming, or had I already crossed into the afterlife?

I continued walking. I could no longer feel the burning pain from the wolfsbane in my back. Did that mean I hadn't survived?

I had no idea where I was supposed to go. Was there anyone here, or any kind of creature? Why was this place so incredibly bright?

"Hello, is anyone here?" I called out as I continued walking. I suddenly stopped when I saw a woman standing with her back facing me, staring at a magnificent throne.

"Who are you?" I asked. She didn't answer, nor did she turn around. She wore a beautiful white dress, its long hem dancing gently in the breeze. A delicate crown rested on her head, and her long curly hair flowed gracefully behind her. What kind of being was she?

Was I really inside a dream?

"Moon Goddess? Am I dead?" I asked because she was the only one I could possibly think of.

"You cannot die yet, Selina, because you still have many important missions to fulfill in the world of werewolves. Don't fall asleep, wake up and fight." she said. Her voice echoed all around me. It was beautiful, so soothing that I felt like I could fall asleep if she started singing.

"How am I supposed to wake up when my soul is already here? Is this really my fate, Moon Goddess? You abandoned me when I was just a child. You gave me parents who didn't want me. You only watched while my sister bullied and hurt me, and now you simply watched me die too. Yet you're telling me I still have missions to complete? I'm not strong like everyone else. I'm just a wolfless orphan, and if all that's waiting for me is a life filled with hell, then I'd rather stay here." I answered.

She finally turned to face me. I saw her breathtakingly beautiful face, her crystal-blue eyes, and her long hair swaying with the wind. She flicked my forehead, and I actually felt the sting.

"You need to wake up now, lady. That's enough sleeping." she said.
