Chapter 2

1024 Words
After downing two more glasses, Louisa felt really good about herself and everything. The music suddenly sounded heavenly, and she was consumed by the desire to dance, not that she even knew how to do that. "Isn't that the best song ever?" she slurred to the man sitting with her. "I feel like going to dance!" "Go." The man tilted his head to the dance floor. "You want me to go alone? No, no! I am going with you. I don't know how to dance so I want you to teach me. Besides, if I leave you here, I might find you gone. I don't have any friends, do you know that?" she was talking loudly to make herself heard above the music, but a little louder than necessary. "Go. I am not going anywhere. You will find me right here." "No. I won't risk it. Come dance with me!" Louisa got up from her chair and moved around the table to pull the man to his feet. Finally, he agreed with a laugh. "Okay, okay. I will go and dance with you." He followed her to the dance floor and watched her for a moment as she started swaying her hips to the music. "Dance. What are you standing there for?" she frowned at him. People who knew Louisa were surprised at the behavior she was displaying, but amused at the same time. It was a relief to see her without loosening up with a handsome guy beside her, away from her job. The guy began dancing behind her, holding her waist as she ground her ass into him. He hissed, then stopped dancing suddenly. He grabbed her wrist and dragged her to a bathroom. Once inside, he closed the door and pushed her against the wall roughly, bending over her. Louisa closed her eyes in anticipation of being kissed, but she did not feel his lips touch hers. Instead, she felt his hand cover her mouth tightly, causing her to panic amid the buzz in her head. Without wasting time, the man dipped his head to her neck and she felt the most excruciating pain she had ever felt in her life. His teeth seemed to have sunk into the flesh on her neck, and he seemed so intent on giving her a thorough bite that he did it over and over again, his hand firmly planted on her mouth to prevent her from screaming. When he was satisfied with the result, he let go of her, letting her slide to the floor and leaving her. Louisa vaguely saw the man wipe his mouth on a handkerchief from his pocket before he let himself out of the bathroom and out of her sight. Then she lost consciousness. People saw her lying on the floor and thought she was just too drunk and left her alone. After all, she was the same merciless policewoman that everyone tried their utmost best to avoid because she walked around looking like someone had eaten her food. Everyone feared her, so they left her lying there on the floor. She would wake up when the alcohol reduced in her system, they thought. Only after several hours had passed did Louisa open her eyes. She felt pain on all parts of her body, feeling like she had just woken up from the dead. Touching the wall for support, she managed to stand to her feet, wincing at the pain shooting from her shoulder and paralyzing her whole body. Her head was still swimming with the alcohol she had earlier, making it difficult to think properly. She leaned her weight against the wall and tried to remember exactly what happened. She remembered a handsome man had joined her at her table, joined her on the dance floor, then pulled her to this room. She had thought he would kiss her but then...HE BIT HER! Was she going insane? Maybe it was the aftereffects of drinking more than her body could handle. Maybe she just imagined the guy. No one ever talked to her, so why would such a man come to talk to her? No, she must have just imagined him. That was it. No normal human ever bit another human. She imagined the whole thing. But how to explain the pain in her shoulder? She pushed herself forward from the wall and staggered to the mirror to check the source of the pain. Her blue shirt had been pulled aside as the man was biting. After he was done, he had pulled it back in place to hide the bitten area. Louisa could now see the blood on her shirt. She pulled the shirt out of the way on the spot she felt the most pain and gasped, her eyes widening in horror at the wound. She covered it quickly, like it would just vanish if she covered it out of sight. It seemed she did not imagine it. She was really bitten by that man. But why? She did not understand. Was he some kind of weird freak that thought it was cool to drink a person's blood? Being a policewoman, Louisa had met different kinds of people that did shocking things, including eating human flesh. Did the man want to eat her? She shivered at the thought. But the bite he gave her had to mean something. He couldn't have bitten her just for the sake of causing pain for her. She noticed her face was too pale. She pinched her cheeks to give them some color before she could think of going out. She didn't want people to suspect there was something wrong with her. She wanted everyone to keep on perceiving her as a strict policewoman and stay away from her. After dubbing at her eyes with a handkerchief, she walked out to go to her apartment. If she had to die, she wanted to do so in her own house. She didn't want to break the news if she was found lying dead in the bathroom of a bar. Louisa didn't know how she managed to drag herself home but she finally did.
