Galaxy

The meet

We arrived at a quaint little yellow house. There was a small patio style porch painted dark brown. It was just big enough to sit two to four people. two on each side of the door. The house had a cream colored door. There was a small loveseat porch swing on one side and two fancier lawn chairs on the other side of the door. They were separated by a table with a small fern plant.

“This is your house?” I questioned, also falling in love with the style.

“yah! I decorated she beamed.” it was clear how proud Galaxy was of her work.

I slid out and opened the door for her. She thanked me with a kiss on the cheek and took my hand again. She led me up the small walk while fishing out the key from the same place she kept her phone earlier. Once the door was unlocked and opened she yelled in.

“Hey joshie! I'm home!” She failed to mention that she had brought me home with her.

There was a short hallway to the left that led to a corner and out rounded a man. He was in a plain white t-shirt and blue and black plaid pajama bottoms. he was looking down when he came into view, the shock was evident on his face when he lifted his head and made eye contact. I tried my best to give him my friendliest smile but I was also a very shy man.

“Ah company” Joshua chuckled, switching gears and looking at Galaxy.

“i hope you don't mind joshie.” she smiled at him.

looking back at me he smiled again.

“Nah i don’t mind betbet.” He walked over and kissed her softly on the cheek. and held his hand out to shake mine.

“Hey im joshua, nice to meet you!” I take his hand softly and shake it.

“Ah, I'm Ian, nice to meet you.”

“Would you like to join me? I was about to start a movie, Galaxy of the guardians, or you two headed to the upstairs?” I chuckled at the choice of entertainment.

I take in the man. He's tall. and average build, not too big, not too small. He's probably thirty pounds lighter than me. a foot and a half taller. He's got auburn hair. and light blue eyes. His face is littered with freckles. He's cute. I think Galaxy looked over at me and decided for us.

“we will join you, if you don't mind Ian?” I don't.

“Sounds like fun leading the way.”

we round the corner into a modern kitchen. stainless steel appliances, black backsplash, double sink and a small island which is holding a bowl of popcorn. Joshoua picks it up on the way. It's in an open floor plan and the living room is directly off the kitchen. There's a wrap-around couch that takes up one wall. Once again Galaxy takes me to the couch and sits me down smack dab in the middle. She sits to my right and Joshua takes my left. Her hand never left mine. We sit in silence for the first twenty minutes of the movie. Everyone is still getting comfortable with What everyone knows and is waiting for to happen. It's not long before I lean back more relaxed. And I feel a hand rest on my Left thigh. I smile and look over at him. He nods and then I nod letting him. I know I'm ok with this.
