After that day Jefferson helped me. He made sure I got fysio therapy for my back. Because when I was pulled out of the fire a part of my back was burned and I had a little tear in my spine. But I am almost better now. I can walk on my own and I can almost run again. The burn marks on my back are covered up by a tattoo.
Jefferson has found out that I have a half-brother somewhere in another country and he has contacted him. His name is Liam and he would like to take me in until I am able to take care of myself and live on my own. He has a farm and 4 children 3 sons (Matt 17, Tyler 18 and Josh 4) and a daughter (Maddy 4). There are also 7 other boys living with them (Damien 18, Jason 18, Declan 17, Max 18, Dan 17, Andy 17 and Daniel 18). They are mostly friends with Matt And Tyler.
Their parents are very rich and aren’t home that often so they thought it would be the best if they all lived with Liam and his wife and children
In 15 minutes there will be a car taking me to Liam his mother Vanessa. I already talked to her over the phone and she told me I can call her Grams. ‘I think I am going to like her’. I pack the last stuff and put it in my back pack. As I start walking towards the car.
It’s is already time for dinner when I arrive at grams house. I start walking towards the door when the door suddenly fly’s open hitting the wall. A women comes out of the house and starts walking towards me. With a big smile on her face. Before u know what is going on, she pulls me in for a hug and I whisper ‘Grams’. I don’t know her but the hug feels so warm and familiar. After what feels like minutes she puts her hands on my shoulders and pulls me out of the hug. She stares at me and after a short silence she begins to talk. ‘You must be hungry, do you want something to eat?’ I nod as she takes my hand and starts walking towards the house.
After dinner we start talking while we clean the table and the kitchen. When everything is clean we talk further in the living room. I talk my heart out and tears start rolling down my face. It is the first time in a year that I am talking about everything that happened and everything that I have lost. I am glad my family is okay don’t get me wrong. I am just sad that I don’t get to see them anymore and that I can’t have any kind of contact.
When I am calmed down, grams looks at me with a serious expression and begins to talk. ‘sweety, I know it Is difficult and that it’s a hard time for you’. She takes a deep breath before she continues ‘but I have to ask you something, can you promise me not to tell anyone where you are really from and who your father is?’ I look a little confused but nod my head. Grams sighs and continues ‘I have talked with Jefferson and we think its best if you tell everyone that there was an accident and that you were the only survivor. So no one will look in papers or find out where you are from. For your safety and the safety of your family.’ I understand what she means. It is going to be hard, but I know she is right.
After a while we both go upstairs and after she shows me my room for tonight. She leaves me alone so I can go to sleep. It doesn’t take long for the sleep to find me.
