Carlton had called Alice Pendergrass when they were on the road, and she’d agreed to meet them at the old jail. Eric was driving because he knew where the building was located, and he pulled Carlton’s truck up into a parking spot in front of the building just as Alice Pendergrass was getting out of her car.
