Truth: Part One~

Sitting on her plush bed, Ren stared at Eryn sitting in the armchair across the room. Ren rubbed her face gently. She hated that she wasn't aware of something that affected her life so greatly. As Ren stared at Eryn, she squirmed. She wasn't used to such scrutiny. "You mentioned a Revelation before I was kidnapped to be here. Explain what it is. And don't lie to me." Ren grimaced. She was tired of being lied to, to save her feelings. Eryn flinched as Ren scolded her. She had never intended to hide it from her, but had yet to find the right time. "Now is as good as any, I suppose..." Eryn trailed off, sighing a bit hard. She rubbed her face a bit rough. "The Revelation... is like a rebirth. A continuing of the human race, so to speak." She started. "A Sacrifice is picked at birth, and a Matron is picked for the Sacrifice. The Matron is always a few years older, and has both sets of reproductive organs." Eryn continued while Ren watched her intensely. "You were picked as a Sacrifice and I was picked as your Matron." "You knew my parents!" Ren accused harshly, throwing a pillow at Eryn, narrowly missing her. Eryn flinched. "I knew both of them, yes. You look like your mother, but have your fathers' temper." She admitted. "You have your fathers' eyes and your mothers' face and her build." Ren took a shaky breath. She had never known her parents, so it was nice to hear about them, even if she didn't fully trust Eryn. "Tell me about my parents after you tell me about The Revelation." Eryn sighed, but nodded. "As you wish." She shifted on the armchair and stopped looking at Ren. "The Revelation came upon us millennia ago. The Sacrifice carries the child that the Matron plants within her to continue the human race." She turned to look at Ren. "Your mother Vivienne was a Sacrifice. My mother, Xenna, was her best friend. She had been in love with Vivienne since they met. "Xenna and Vivienne were inseparable." She paused, catching herself going off topic. "The Matron is born with fully functioning sets of male and female genitalia. The Sacrifice is always one hundred percent female." Eryn looked at Ren sadly. "Our mothers decided when you were born that you would be my Sacrifice and I would be your Matron." Eryn continued, before Ren could interrupt. "If the Sacrifice does not carry the Matron's child before they turn 30, the Sacrifice will die."
