"Understood."
Chumana sighed in frustration and threw her phone against the wall. She had pulled strings with all the people she was on good terms with to find out where Eryn had taken Ren. She regretted letting her take her, but without Eryn's "help" - if you could call it that - Ren would die. And she wouldn't be able to live without herself if she allowed Ren to die without doing everything she could to save her.
Sighing, she placed her head in her hands, rubbing her face. Frustration was starting to set in with the lack of progress she was making. She had just accepted that she was not getting anywhere that day when her phone rang. She flung herself across the room, the chair clattering to the floor as she answered.
"Hello?! Ren?!"
Her face fell when it wasn't her beloved on the other end of the line. She rubbed the bridge of her nose as she stood up, fixing the chair.
"I understand," she grimaced.
Sighing, she finished the conversation quickly.
"It will be done," she agreed, hanging up before the voice demanded more of her. She rubbed her face roughly. She didn't understand why Ren had to be taken from her and hidden. Sure, she was her target, but she was willing to give up everything for her. Sighing again, she picked up her phone, knowing who she had to call if she wanted answers.
The ling rang once before a husky female voice answered on the other side.
"I need your help." Chumana grimaced at the silence on the other end.
"You know my price, Chumana. That hasn't changed."
Chumana sighed, nodding. "I have no choice but to agree to your terms, Eryka."
A soft chuckle answered her acceptance.
"You know where to meet me. Do not keep me waiting."
The line went dead and Chumana sighed hard. How far she had fallen to have to see help from someone she could not bear to see, much less know existed. Chumana stood up, heading out of the kitchen to grab an overnight bag and some other essentials before she locked her house and made her way to the bar that Eryka always had her meet her at.
