I paced the room in an effort to keep the swiftly rising panic at bay. I knew I should not be doing this. Eleanor's mum did not need any form of agitation right now. It looked like she was on the verge of losing it. I had almost lost it myself. It was a miracle that I was still sane. I called on all my reserves of inner strength and forced myself to stop pacing. It really wasn't helping. I grabbed a chair and sat at the far end of the room where I could be alone with my thoughts and also keep an eye on Eleanor. I sat on the very edge of my seat. I just could not believe that this was happening. What was the cause of this? Was this a continuation of the episode of pneumonia she had a few days ago? But she had seemed so much better yesterday before she went on that damned walk. Just thinkin
