"Did he say why he wanted to see me?" Kane inquired.
Vincent glanced at me, then away before answering. "Er- I am sure he will let you know once you go to see him."
Vincent's expression told me something else- he was aware of the reason and did not want to discuss it in front of me.
Vincent's and Alastair's body language was strained and tense. I could understand Alastair's mood, but I could not fathom Vincent's. I felt that whatever he wanted to see Kane for, it wasn't good news.
Kane seemed to catch on. He stood up.
"Where exactly can I find the Alpha?" he asked.
"He is in the study. Alastair and I are going there ourselves."
