- We don't know anything about that. We came here to ask you if knew anything about her. You said that you were good friends, which is great, so could you continue what you started, please? – Verona said.
- Listen. We know that it's hard for you to take this information but could you tell us more about her, it would help us? – I said after a long pause.
- Yes, I can. – She took a deep breath. – I know Ashley only for a year. She was a hairdresser. She had a salon a little further from her home. She also worked alone and went to work with a car. She worked from Monday to Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Was she, by any chance, suicidal?
- As far as I know, she wasn't. She was the most positive person I have ever met so I don't think she had depression or anything.
- What about her parents? Are they still alive and if they are where can we find them?
She didn't talk much about her parents, but she once told me that they haven't been in contact for 12 years. I can't help you with their home address but the Anderson family could.
- Thank you for your help, Mia. – I said getting up – We should get going now.
- No problem. The Andersons live next to my house, on the left.
We said goodby to Mia and went to our next stop, the Anderson family.
Ding Dong. Verona rang the bell. We had to wait longer this time. When the doors opened, an old lady was standing.
- Can I help you? – The lady spoke.
We introduced ourselves and she kindly let us in. We went to the living room where an old man was sitting on a couch.
- Who was it, Elenor?
- The detectives want to talk to us. – the old lady answered – I'll bring you some cookies.
When she came I told them about Ashley's body and asked them if they knew anything about her parents.
- John knows her father. – Elenor said.
- Her father and I went to the same college. We were good friends back in the days. I met his wife once so I can't tell you much about her. – John explained.
Do you know where they live? – Verona asked.
- Oh yes – he stood up and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen – I will write you the name of the street but they live in another city.
I took the piece of paper that he handed me. Verona and I stood up to say our goodbyes and go on a mini-adventure. Our next stop, Stratford.
- I'm driving! – Verona said excitedly.
- Fine, do whatever you want.
- How long will it take from London to Stratford?
- About an hour or so.
It was 3 p.m. when we arrived in Stratford. We just needed to find the right house. After a few minutes, we were in front of Nelsons' house. Ding dong. We rang the bell for the third time today.
