At the Jin’s Family Home
“You’re back,” Ji-woo said as he stepped into the living room.
Ji-hoon looked up from his phone and nodded. “Yes,” he answered after a short pause. “You’re back already? I thought you’d be back late”
Ji-woo grinned. “I should be the one asking you that”
“I don’t have night shift today”
“Oh,” Ji-woo replied. “I just had three classes today, so I came back earlier.”
Ji-hoon glanced toward the hallway. “Where’s Mom? She’s not back already?”
“She’s back,” Ji-woo said. “She might be in the kitchen.”
“Okay.”

At the Dorm
The four roommates sat around their desks, the comfortable mess of shared space surrounding them.
Tae-hwan leaned back in his chair with a grin. “Let’s go eat out today. It’s on me.”
Min-seo looked up, surprised. “Really? Wow, you seem really happy… any good news for us?”
Seung-min smirked. “His girl unblocked him.”
Hyun-woo blinked. “Hmm??”
Min-seo frowned. “I don’t understand.”
Seung-min explained, “She blocked him when she caught him with another girl. Not knowing she was his cousin sister. So she thought he was seeing another girl, so she blocked him. But then, maybe, they’ve sorted out their differences, and she unblocked him today.”
“Oh…” Min-seo said slowly.
“Girls are a problem,” Seung-min muttered.
Min-seo and Hyun-woo said at the same time, “Are you gay?”
Seung-min held up his hands defensively. “Woah, woah, easy there. I’m not, but I don’t have a girlfriend for now.”
Tae-hwan laughed. “But you have a crush on a girl.”
Min-seo and Hyun-woo burst into laughter.

At the Hospital
“Hi babe, good evening. Yes, I’m on the night shift. Okay, I will. Bye bye… love you,” Soo-young said softly into her phone before hanging up.
Nurse Rita approached with Nurse Mary beside her. “Hey, you must be Nurse Soo-young, right?”
Soo-young nodded. “Yes, nice to meet you two.”
Nurse Mary smiled. “You are really lucky.”
Soo-young frowned. “Hmm??? How?”
Nurse Rita explained, “You’re under the supervision of Doctor Ji-hoon. That’s always been the dream of all the nurses in our hospital—to be under his supervision. But he’s been rejecting all of them, just like me. I was meant to be under him, but he rejected me, and I was put under Doctor Lu.”
Nurse Mary leaned in. “Is your dad a higher-up in the hospital?”
Nurse Rita shook her head quickly. “Don’t ask that. It doctor Mu-lin’s dad a higher-up at Paulmers Investment Company, but he also rejected her, so it’s not that. You shouldn’t go asking her…”
Nurse Mary blinked. “Are you two dating?”
Soo-young nearly choked. “What? No!!!”
She exhaled and composed herself. “We aren’t dating at all. It’s just that my dad and his mom are business partners. That’s the reason why he accepted me to be under him, and the director also forced him. Yeah.”
Nurse May nodded slowly. “Oh, okay.”
Nurse Rita said, “I see.”
Soo-young smiled faintly. “Yes.”
Nurse Mary offered her hand. “Okay, I’m Nurse Mary. I’m an intern, like you. Nice to meet you.”
Nurse Rita nodded. “I’m Rita. I’m also an intern.”
Soo-young shook both their hands. “Yeah, nice to meet you both.”
