I immediately turn around, slamming my back hard against the wall. But the tight knot in my chest loosened when I met the confused eyes of Arkin.
"What procedure are you talking about, Catania?”
"Nothing!" I blurted out as I quickly ended the call before Dr. Davis could say anything else. "Just... a medical procedure for my mom. Like a routine check-up. She asked me to look into a specialist for her."
Arkin stared at me suspiciously, but after a few seconds, he let out a sigh.
"Right. Well, Rafael told me to let you watch the team work. The guys are already out in the main bays, so you're free to wander around and ask them questions if something makes you curious."
