Chapter 31

Kendall stirred upright like she was stung by a wasp. She was in an unknown bed, in a room she didn’t recognize. It looked like a hotel room but even more austere. Memories rushed back to her and she realized she must still be in the company building. She felt an arm brush on her skin, she turned around to see that Carl was in bed with her. ‘’How are you feeling?’’ He asked softly. ‘’A bit tired, but good overall.’’ He made her lay back on the bed and brought her closer until their lips were only an inch apart. He snaked his hands behind her so that he was rubbing soothing circles on her back. ‘’Mmmh. You did well today.’’ He whispered. ‘’We were both proud of you. You were a good girl.’’ She coyly smiled. ‘’Thank you.’’ She whispered back. ‘’Are you ready to go?’’ She nodded yes.
