Chapter 20Danesh was unable to sleep after leaving Kiku in her room. He called reception to order some cigarettes, guiltily embracing a habit that he had tried to give up many times. It didn’t help that, at the corner of his room, lay Iris’ matching suitcases. One large with the smaller stackable one on top, both with distinctive black and red stripes. He realised that he should have asked her whether she needed her clothes – surely she did – but if she wouldn’t bother to come to him, he certainly wasn’t going to behave like a coolie at her service.
