~Ramuell~After everyone had recovered their eyesight, we recommenced our trek. For several days we enjoyed easy hiking on the valley floor. On the fifth day, we came to another fork in the river and camped there for two nights. We then climbed out of the valley and into a small mountain range. Our progress slowed dramatically.
The most difficult aspect of this leg of our journey was the very steep descent into yet another valley. This one was formed by two small rivers that emerged from almost identical canyons that dropped out of an enormous snow-covered mountain range to our north. We camped at the confluence of the two rivers.
