~Ramuell~ ~Ramuell~Entering the cavern I felt like I was walking through a wall of ice. I suppose that’s exactly what I was doing. The entrance was only about seven metres wide by five metres high. A walkway shared the opening with a three-metre-wide steaming stream that gurgled out of a thermal hot spring at the back of the cavern. The natural mouth of the ice cave had been a good deal wider, but the Oprit Robia garrison had enclosed much of it with blocks of ice. Lighting strung along the walls gave the ice an iridescent blue hue. The lights extended some hundred and fifty metres back into the huge delve at the glacier’s base.
