I let go and fell. My life did not flash before my eyes, only the thought that I was much too high in the tree to survive the fall. I hit a branch that spun me around headfirst and I saw that I was headed for the pond. Again all of this was happening in the tiniest splits of seconds, which makes me marvel at how fast the brain can work. I suppose there’s more than a bit of truth to the old saw, “Focused Energy Alters Reality” (FEAR).Not knowing how deep the water was, I did not want to enter head first.
