~Ramuell~ ~Ramuell~The hike out of Blue Rock Canyon was a slog for the Crow Clan. Three of the clanspeople had to be carried because of their severe injuries. We made camp on the filthy, sooty flat near the trailhead. Eight clanspeople trekked back into the canyon to retrieve a second load of our meager belongings. Shiya and I stumbled and staggered, grumbled and groaned hauling the footlocker up the steep trail. She returned to the caves for our bedding furs and as much miscellany as she could carry. I stayed behind, ostensibly to attend to people’s burns, but in reality, we hoped my presence would have a calming effect on the traumatized group.
