CHAPTER NINETEEN
My jaw flapped open and closed a few times before I snapped my mouth shut. The stone did indeed have movable human features, from the bushy stone eyebrows to the thick stone lips. The rest of him, however, was merely an outline. A pair of arms were attached to his sides and his body disappeared into the ground at the waist.
Castle looked amused as he gestured first to me and then the stone. “Miss Millie Lucas, allow me to introduce you to Pazari. Oh, great Pazari, this is Millie.”
The Russian nesting-doll-shaped stone wrinkled its nose. “She isn’t much to look at as far as you humans go, is she?”
Castle chuckled. “You need your eyes cleaned of bird poop, Pazari, but we didn’t come here to discuss our looks. We came here to do business.”
